You don't live in California, and I don't even think they would allow you to move here, so I have to ask, why do you even care?

For a few reasons. First off Californians tend to reproduce which means more Californians which = not good for the USA and real Americans.

California happens to be the gateway for illegals coming into this country via Mexico and they like to spread out from there. California also has a lot of seats in Congress, and the last thing this country needs is Bolsheviks like Pelosi and that ilk calling the shots for the USA. There's a few more reasons, but I'm sure you get the gist of it.

words/ actions speak volumes and can prevent ... spend some time with a lawdog and also look at the tactical situation from a small persons point of view ...

If you believe a " persons diminutive size can actually help them in a potentially threatening situation ..." I do not denegrate you for such a belief. However, I am not of that belief nor am I willing to second guess the intent of a potential attacker to think anything I might have to say will cause him to have a change of mind.

As for as "appears you don't know much about how to avoid situations" some situations are unavoidable. The one and only time I've pulled my handgun, was when a pumped and ripped thug of 6ft. at least 200 lbs. (appeared to be fresh from doing time at a California state pen) looked at my 5'7" 170 lb size as an eazy victim. But finding himself suddenly staring at the business end of a .45 ACP, caused an equally sudden change of mind about my size and his ultimate plan of taking my money as he had expressed.

At that time having to work as a delivery driver at night put me in that sitaution and I'm sure, my words and actions would have done little to change his mind.

I'm open to looking at tactical options that do not include a firearm, but I want the right to use my firearm if talking is not effective.

So, basically what you're saying is you shouldn't carry a weapon because someone bigger, faster or armed could take your weapon away.

Wouldn't you want to be armed if you have to encounter someone bigger, faster or armed? I mean, given the choice of being armed or not, are you saying you'd actually prefer to be unarmed?

For anyone who is openly carrying an unloaded handgun (or was) take heed. You are announcing to the world you have a gun on your person. It is not loaded and cannot shoot anyone, yet if you happen to be in the 7-11 when it gets robbed, the bad guys will likely have pegged you and kill you with the first shot. They are'nt sure if it is loaded or not. It is just bad practice to represent yourae;f as armed when you are not. You have brought a paperweight to a gun fight. This would be like painting a cap pistol black and trying to rob a bank with it. BAD IDEA!

Either carry a loaded gun and conceal it like a gentleman or leave it at home. I have known people for years that have no idea I am armed every time they have ever seen me. They do not need to know. If you cannot deal with the laws in CA, then GET OUT! And write a letter to Gov. Brown telling him so. There are lots of other nice places to live, with lower crime rates that allow you to carry guns like free people.

I think there should be much more stringent verification process to weed out the deadbeats who sit on their butt watching Oprah and commenting on the internet. I also think that anyone convicted of a crime should not be allowed to collect any entitlement, ever.

Again I'm not getting the "unloaded part" of this story. Do you mean Californians weren't allowed to carry loaded weapons on their person?

Makes me glad that I live in a real US state where US citizens still enjoy their Constitutional rights and are treated like adults where they are allowed to make their own decisions.

Now that I think about it, Californians shouldn't be allowed to carry loaded weapons...most of them would most likely end up shooting themselves in the foot. Good deal that they have baby sitters like Chairman Brown, and Chairman Pelosi to show the good Comrades the way.
