Really? Because the guys who wrote it had done just that. Don't you think if they wanted to prohibit the populace from having the means to do so they would've stopped ownership of "military grade" weaponry right then and there? Wouldn't they have used some different language?

The way they put it on paper it's designed to do exactly that - ensure a free state. They knew an armed population is the key deterrent to tyranny. The fact of the matter is the founders had just finished overthrowing their own government and set out to ensure their posterity had the means to do so as well.

Do you have any facts to dispute that?

It should also be noted that the rumblings and the "Occupy Wall Street" protests of the time only became a war for independence when the British arrived to confiscate the guns!

It is also interesting to note that MANY countries have had for MANY years, even pre-dating our constitution BANS on military weapons, military cartridges and even military calibers/bore sizes for civilian firearms where those civilians are allowed to own fireams, including British law.

If the people writing our constitution had not desired for individuals to own military type rifles, the existance of bans on such at the time would have been their guide.

How about we keep Newport Beach south to San Diego...the hell with the rest of it.

As long as that area isn't full of Commie loving Californians. I hear the northern part up by Ukiah, Redding, Shasta, etc.. isn't screwed up yet so there's still hope.

Oh boy, the loony left illness starts well south of there, you left an entire area of crazy loons out. Just start with everything north of Fresno on the east, then move west starting with Carmel then clear everything north of there to the Oregon state line. That ought get the loons. Newport Beach (Orange County) south to San Diego should be ok.

The rest of it...good riddance. And for petes sake, please hit Sacramento twice.

I am sure it was him. Then one day they were talking about lifting the ban on calls from there and they decided that NO, they couldn't because there were just too many stupid people there.

One day some guy called on a cell phone and said he was from somewhere else and they let him through and then they found out he was from Sacramento and they cut him off.
