You know the killer part of it AJ? I have three felony's, god only knows how many misdemeanors ...some asualt charges in there with a few DV's and did a stint in the joint along with a bunch of trips to the jail when I was younger, and I can pack a loaded hand gun around and Rob cant.

It never snows where Rob is. Heck, it never even really gets cold.

Given the right circumstances (as in, a situation involving something other than Vermont or his naked wife) we may get a straight answer. The bravado will still be there, though.

And if it ever does snow where Rob lives, he has all those illegals around to help keep him warm.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

All you have to do is go back to court and get your gun rights back...if they give them to you. Anywhere else I wouldn't have had a chance in h*ll getting them back, but my neighbor here is a circuit court judge and hunting buddy of mine. That and I over hauled his boiler free of charge and helped him nab a bear. So it's all good. I have my gun rights back, and I'm feeling good about not living in a Bolshevik state where they make all your decisions for you. :)

Cool.

The only problem with that scenario is, to legally open-carry, the weapon has to be properly holstered. People that open-carry are well aware of the "properly holstered" requirement. So if a cop responding to a robbery nearby sees a person open carrying, but with the weapon in his hand, that person is subject to arrest. I would imagine that cop and his department would have a big problem if that situation was not handled properly. I don't imagine a cop using good judgement would just start shooting at someone with a weapon in his hand, without first engaging to get the facts. But then again, there are some boneheads with a shield and weapon on his/her hip.

The problem with many folks in this country is they think our laws should be passed to protect the police at the expense of the citizen's rights. In fact, the police should be trained on citizen's rights and how to deal with them appropriately.

People forget the police work for us - we don't work for them.

Are you really that ignorant Gary? I have explained at least three times how a VPN works. If you aren't intelligent enough to understand that, thats not my fault. If you aren't mentally aware enough to remember, that too is not my fault. You should seek medical or mental help for your condition.

Rofl, you can pack a guns, but at the end of the day, you are a multiple convicted felon, and admit to domestic violence and have to live in Alaska. I'll take my California existence, and my freedom to travel anywhere in the world and even this state. I can own a gun in any state in the U.S., can you say the same?

The only two countries I can't go to are Canada and Australia, so no loss there.

As far as freedoms go...you live in The Peoples Republic of California so what freedoms are you speaking of?

Now don't let me find out you carried an exposed loaded hand gun outside of your door or I shall be forced to call 911. :hehe:

A not-so-gentle reminder to keep it civil. Having fun with eachother (in Alaska or California!) is fine, challenging eachother's opinions is fine, but personal attacks are not.

I looked up CCW for CA by county. Basically, if you don't live on the coast its fairly easy to get a permit. I used to live in Napa County for instance, and it sounds like you had a chance there. Areas inland it looks almost guaranteed.

Good point. When I started with the open carry movement early on, there were many encounters with bonehead, rude, arrogant cops. It was those in the open-carry movement exercising that unused right that bought it to light. Cops were not aware of open-carry, I witnessed many cops calling a supervisor that called the watch commander, that lead to calls to the DA's office, that informed the cop on the scene as to how to proceed. As in, inspect the weapon and make sure it is unloaded, then release the citizen.

It is the citizen that has to educated those in government at times about rights, even if they wish to ignore them.

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.

IMO police fear cameras and recording devices more than guns these days...I wonder why.
