Hello VJers,

I read some posts in here regarding introduction by family member and some say it's ok other say it's not. My Fiancee's interview is coming up. My cousin gave her phone number to me. I called her and it all started from there. Is this something she can mention to the CO regarding how we know each other? We knew each other 2 months before we met and she picked me up at the Airport. Any help appreciated.

If it's just an introduction, that's perfectly ok. Maybe what you are talking about is the family's too much involvement in your relationship, like you are actually employed my your fiancee's family business, or you are staying with her family in the US or they are preparing everything for the two of you, house, who to work with, etc. It sounds like they are pushing you to marry their daughter so she could join them, and at the same time, you'll get something that you need not because you just simply love each other.

That happens, you are friend of her brother or her father, you can't help how the two of you will meet.

I think you guys should be ok. Just prove to them that what you have is real. I also think it does make a difference that you go to interview. I just had my own over the phone interview with the US embassy in Laos. I think they want to make sure our stories are the same so they ask of same questions as they asked him. So that means if you go to the interview make sure you are able to answer questions too if they ask you.

Oh and just because my mom and my fiancé has the same last name they think what we have isn't real. There are plenty of people with same last name or family with same last name as spouse/fiancé that doesn't mean we are related. Sorry as you can see I'm kind of pissed off at them.
