What it the service center that serves the area of New Jersey. I am currently making a cover letter for my I-130 package but i do not know what Service center i have to include in since we have not filed yet the application to start the process.Can any body please provide me with this information? My suggestion to you is just use the lockbox address (that's what I did). Your file will end up at one of the two service centers and the lockbox facility determines which one; current workload at one of two tends to be the deciding factor as to which one your file is sent to. There have people who have posted here on VJ who have had their files sent to California even though they live in Atlantic Coast states.

According to the website the lockbox will forward your petition to the appropiate Service Center "based on the petitioner's place of residence". The vermont service senter is 350 miles from you. The California Service Center is 3000 miles from you. These are the facts, you decide.

Where to File :All petitioners filing a stand-alone Form I-130 must submit their petitions to the Chicago Lockbox facility. Form I-130 petitions filed with the Chicago Lockbox will be routed to and adjudicated at the appropriate USCIS Service Center. This routing will be based on the petitioner’s place of residence. Important filing tips, as well as additional information on fees and customer service, are listed on our Lockbox Filing Tips webpage

I was about to send my I-130 package when I realized there is a mistake in my marriage certificate with my US wife. I am going to list 2 mistake that it contents:

1- my wife was born in haiti but at a city named Saint marc. But by mistake the people preparing the marriage certificate put my wife was born in port au prince which is another city.

2- they put my mother in law and father in law has their residence in Haiti, while they r currently living in the US.

Will those have incidence on our case if we sent these papers to US immigration will this occur with a RFE?

As my mother in law and father in law are not really involved in the process.

Will the city where my wife was born in haiti have bad incidence as well.

My husband (the petitioner) is from NJ, too. He sent our petition to Chicago Lockbox. It was then the Lockbox which forwarded our I-130 to California Service Center.

You get this information from the I-130 instructions. Mail to the Chicago lockbox address as instructed. Your case will be forwarded to Vermont or California. It should be Vermont unless they are "work sharing" at the time of receipt. It will go where it will go.
