For some stupid reason I thought that I was entitled to legally work as soon as I entered the US on a K1. How long can I expect to wait before I receive the EAD?

01-02-2009 Mailed in I-751 application

01-12-2009 Temporary resident status extended for one year

02-03-2009 Biometrics appointment

Did you get a temp EAD stamped on your visa when you entered? IF you did you can start working straight away.... otherwise you have to file for I 131 after you get married and typically this takes about 3 months on average to come through......

23 Feb 2006 - I-129 mailed

14 August 2006 - Approved!!!! :-)

21 October 2006 - Married in the mountains of North Carolina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AOS Application

6 November 2006 - Applied for AOS, EAD and AP

09 Decemeber 2006 - e-mail received to say case was trasferred to California

16 December 2006- biometric appointment in Charlotte, NC

20 Jan 2007 -AP approved

24 Jan -EAD approved

28 June -Green card ordered

7 July wedding celebrations in Scotland
