I am a new member of this site waiting for my interview date.I need an expert advice from my seniors who has already gone through this phase.

#What are the important documents (must to carry)for Mumbai Interview.

#I have gone through different forums and post and found a huge huge list.I came to know people also carry copy of I-130,I-864, DS-230. Is it must(actually I have no coppy of I-130 and I-864)?

#Also my main concern is that we met last year in November and got married in Feb this year (it was an arranged marriage).Hubby was with for a month after our wedding later he left for US (as he is working for a finance company he can't get off for more than 1 month in a year). We have not met each from last 7 month (will it cause any problem??).

I will highly appreciate for your time and kind help

  1. There is really no need to take copies of I-130, I-864, DS-3032 & DS-230. Consulate has all those with them. We take those just to be sure and it gives us some confidence. No one was ever asked to show copies of these in any interview. So if you don't have copies of those, you are fine.
  2. I met my wife in Jan 3 this year and got married on March 10, during my spring break (was a student). Consulate knows about Indian arranged marraiges, so that is not a concern, as long as you take evidence of continuing relationship - like, a few email copies covering different period, skype or google chat logs, telephone logs, marraige photos (showing all the religious customs/ rituals), reception photos, honeymoon photos.
  3. Complete medical and obtain medical certificates to be submitted at VFS (one packet is for Point of Entry).
  4. Submit the documents required to be submitted at nearest VFS serving Mumbai consulate and obtain a receipt - at least need to pay courier fee. This receipt is required for interview.
  5. Carry all the required documents like Passport and a copy, interview letter, VFS receipt of haivng paid courier fee and submitted documents that are asked to be submitted at VFS in your interview letter.
  6. Above all be very confident and answer to the questions (don't say more than required information).
