I read that even though they may have their shots up to date they may still re-inject them. Any reason as to why? Has this happened to you?

I just feel bad for the guy having to get the vaccines, and getting them once again...ugh...

He has Mexicos Cartilla de Vacunacion.

Why dont fiances have to get vaccinations? It makes no sence to me.

Fell in love on a missions trip in 2005, got married in 07, got pregnant and started IR1 visa process in 08, had baby number 2 in 10, and its now 2011, and we are just now finally getting to the end of this long road. (The mail from the embassy never arrives to my home, causing us trouble. Fingers crossed and prayers going up! Both kids born and raised in Mexico and American citizens by CRBA:

His Appointement is October 25th!

Fiance visas are non-immigrant visas good for 90 days entry to the US. If they want a greencard they have to marry and adjust status from K1 visa holder to permanent resident ($1070). That's when they have to have their vaccinations complete or they will not get the greencard. A CR1 spouse visa has the whole greencard process done before they enter the US, so the vaccinations have to be done before they get the visa.

Everybody has to get vaccinations to get a greencard, but the K1s can do it after they enter the US.

Right and it's kind of a better deal for the CR-1 / IR-1 visas IMO b/c you get it done all in one shot (no pun intended) as opposed to having to do more stuff after you get the visa. Of course it's still a pain (again no pun intended :P ) but it's nice to know that once you have the IR-1 visa then you're pretty much done with the system. At least for a while.

As far as the vacunas I understand that sometimes they don't trust the medical records that are issued in Mexico and that's why they make the benificiary get shots again... kind of like how they don't trust the Mexican police certificates. It's really just a roll of the dice and depends on who you get and what kind of day they're having I think. My wife has had everything standard that they give here in Mexico but no records, so she'll surely have to get some shots, but it's not as bad as I originally thought and apparently the most expensive scenario that you could face is around $200 USD. One VJ member gave me a good idea to try and get some of the shots beforehand for free via IMSS or the Secretaria de Salud, so we might try that.
