Hello again,

I'm finally at the stage of processing packet 3, I called DOS on Friday and was informed that my packet 3 was sent out and should be arriving sometime this week. Just so I can have a head start and have packet 3 sent out as soon as possible, I'm filling out the necessary forms for packet 3. Since I haven't received my packet 3, I do not know which exact forms they actually need from me, however, I've been using the guidelines from Montreal Embassy Guide.

I've done DS-156 and now am working on the DS-160. I'm having a bit of problem answering of the questions in this form, which ask; How long do I intend to stay in the US. Well, my answer would be INDEFINITE, I'm getting married to my fiance what else do should they expect me to say?

Also, they ask; Have you ever visited the US before, state the dates.

Well, I live 30 minutes away from the US border and I visit my fiance allot sometimes twice month every month. He only lives just 6 hours away (by car) from me. So do I have state all the dates? On DS-156 is what allot easier answer this because it allowed me to type a statement describing that I frequently cross the border and visit, since 2010. This form does not allow me to do that, I'm completely stuck on this one.

Has anyone else experience this? And if so, how did you answer?

Thanks.

when you have to put the days in and cant put a word i put " 365 " days.

Also if you are asking questions to Canada you should post in the Canada section of the forums really.

I listed all of the dates/length of each trip to the US including a plane transfer on my trip to Australia. I just wanted to make sure nothing could be used against me.

I answered the "how long do you intend to stay in the US?" by saying "Permanently". My visa was approved on friday so I'm assuming they didn't have any issues with that. After all, you are planning to move there and get married right?

Good luck!

Oh i'm sorry, i'm kind of new here but thank you! If an administrator could please move this post to the canadian section please thanks.

To post in the right area, on the home page scroll all the way down to Regional Discussions, then click on Canada, then you will be posting in Canada. I couldn't figure this out either. If I'm not giving this person the correct information, someone please correct me.

The DS160 inparticular you can only take advice from people going to Montreal embassy because it is a specific form that they use. For length of stay I put 50 years, as there was no way to put a word such as 'permanently'.

For the travel, I read somewhere to list the last 4 or 6 trips I had made with dates. I don't believe there was a way to add a verbal explanation for that either. I assume they can get that information from the other forms where I was able to add a written supplemental page.

Also do not forget to print off the DS160 confirmation and COURIER it to Montreal right away. I printed off a copy of the DS160 and included that in the envelope but I guess you don't have to. I attached a passport picture to the Confirmation, as I was unable to upload one for the form.

Hope this helps,
