You have 6 months to activate your visa.

And then once you activate it (enter the U.S.) your I-94 allows you to be in status for 90 days.

Therefore you must marry within 90 days and submit you AOS before your I-94 expires, to stay in status.

K1 visa once issued is valid for 6 months, but the application I am no more sure, maybe 6 months too...

The approval is good for 4 months. The approval can be extended 4 months at a time. Most consulates will automatically extend them pending the interview.

Many people mis-use terminology and use the visa designation when they're talking about the petition and the petition designation when they're talking about the visa.

So please confirm which you are talking about - the petition or the visa?

K1 Visa is 6 months before entry into the USA, then 90 days after entry.

Petition (NOA2) is valid for 4 months, but the consulate can extend it another 4 months if they cannot schedule a visa interview before the 4 months stated on the approved petition.

My case was recalled due to IMBRA shortly before my first interview was scheduled - so I never had it. It was sent back to USCIS so we could get an RFE and the reapproval.
