Sorry. Insert DOS in place of USCIS. The remainder is correct.

Overstaying or violating the terms of a visa, or lying to obtain a visa, is not a mistake; it's a willful act.

But many immigration sites are filled to overflowing with postings from these same types, who, after they have gained access to the US, suddenly decide they want to 'be legal', conveniently forgetting the simple salient fact that their own lack of responsibility and willingness to adhere to our rules is what caused whatever immigration difficulties they are experiencing...and our COs in embassies around the world have been apprised and seen all the ways that people try to do an end run around the laws...so when they see yet another case in which the liklihood of visa abuse is high, it is no wonder that many people get denied...and no doubt the COs have seen a veritable mountain of letters from interested third parties that turned out to be no more valuable than old newspaper.

I thought I would provide an update for all you who took the time to read and respond to my post. My husband was denied his tourist visa. The interviewer told my husband, "You have an American wife and she is working. You will never be back. Apply for the Immigrant visa, and if I interview you, I will approve you."

That's all I have to say about that.

Sorry to hear this, but it is not unexpected...and I guess ole Ning's idea of the 'magic letter' did not work.

Unfortunately, not surprised whatsoever. Everyone told you that. The reason the interviewer gave him was predicted in this thread: "you're married to an USC." It has nothing to do with his character or yours. It is about avoiding immigration fraud. It is really unfortunate because the past behavior of scammers have made us pay the price. I really do hope you get to see your husband soon and the spousal visa goes smoothly.

Good luck!

Thank you for your kind words. My husband and I were disappointed with the denial, but we did expect it.

The I-130 has been filed and we have received the notice of acceptance.

You sound totally calm about this, despite your disappointment, and that is good. All the best with your CR1/IR1 visa application; the B1/B2 visa denial is already a thing of the past.

December 2009 -- Visit to Malaysia.

February 2010 -- Applied for B2 visa, approved.

March 2010 -- Visited US.

April 2010 -- Returned from US.

May 2010 -- Sent in K1 Visa application.

July 2010 -- Received NOA2 in 71 days from NOA1.

July 2010 -- Packet 3 received.

August 2010 -- Cancellation of K1 Visa application.

I think the fact awakening was a great thing. You had realistic expectations thanks to your research and the constructive criticism you received here. All of us are invested in this process. Sometimes things don't make sense, but a little more digging will unearth an incredible amount of reasons as to why things are the way they are. Most people question how come fiancee visas move at a faster pace than spousal visas, for example. If we open that pandora box, we'll find it has nothing to do with the family's best interest. It is all legal and financial interest.

Good luck with everything. You'll be together soon along with the rest of the Egypt spouses that have been waiting for 6 months or more. God willing, this will be over soon!

I am looking forward to the next step being over with. I have plans to travel to Egypt on Christmas Eve and stay for 2 weeks. I was hoping it would have been my husband to do the traveling and meet some more family here, but we all know how that turned out :bonk:

Anyways, I had another question about notices for my status on the USCIS website. If anyone would be so kind to answer, I would greatly appreciate it :)
