To all visajourney folks,

thankyou so much for your written materials here. It made my wife immigration less troublesome. She got her visa and we flew here in the USA two weeks before. Finally got my internet connection and first act to do is to thankyou all.

She is trying to adjust her disconnected life here. In india, the environment is much social and she is finding challenging here to adjust. Any tips from you all will be helpful.

The most important is about 2010 amendment tax forms. I already have 1040X federal form and 1040NR form. She worked in india for few months only and never been to the USA. In india at her workplace there is no W2 or end of tax year. (I prefer not to use online tax for now.) She does have a unofficial monthly paycheck slip. So what exact documents IRS needs on her employment, where on 1040NR line should I file the income, do we qualify for "adjusted gross income" or any other credits?

What more questions IRS ask after filing? This way I can start collecting additional documents. Any one here had bad experience. thanks in advance.

1040NR is the wrong form... look at Form 2555

YMMV

Thanks.

By the way, to all future CR1 visa holders. The interview lasted only 15 min and few questions asked by consulate. All those interview questions are posted by other users. Do email me if you have additional questions.
