My mother I130 has been approved and forwarded to the NVC. I want to make sure we are ready for the next steps. I've had trouble finding a definitive answer on whether or not we need to submit original documents to the NVC or whether we just submit copies and my mother takes the originals only the interview at the embassy in Islamabad. Anyone know how this works? I'm confused as if at the time of interview the embassy asked for the original documents again.

Please any one who filed IR5 from Pakistan.

Thanks-

You send originals or certified copies for most of the documents. A certified copy must come directly from the government authority in charge of maintaining the record - it is not a copy you can make. You must also send copies of all the documents.

At the interview, the US Embassy/Consulate will have the originals and certified copies. Your mother will get the back the originals at the conclusion of the process.
