I'm glad I don't live in South Dakota. I'm pro-choice, and always will be. Making abortion illegal would be risking many women's lives.

You mean you are pro abortion? Say it the way it is. If you really need to get one go to the state next door!

I think it is insane... a woman should have the right to choose... what next??? George Bush in your bedroom telling you what you can or cannot do??? :ranting::protest:

####### does Bush have to do with it?????? Condoms,IUD,pills, theres your choice! Adoption what a concept!

This truly scares me. I grew up in the dark ages when women were dying from those illegal back room procedures

I find it unbelievable that the so-called "pro-lifers" equate pro-CHOICE with pro-ABORTION. Is it not conceivable that an individual would CHOOSE to never consider an abortion for themselves but would not impose their decision on another????

As far as going to the state next door...yeah, that's real practical for everyone...oh brother.

This is a really tricky subject. On the one hand, after a miscarriage, it hurts me to think that women choose abortion at all. On the other hand I dont like the idea that women who are desparate to end a pregnancy will do so in unsafe ways. Especially since they aren't allowing it for women who have been raped. While I personally still could not abort, I can understand how some women might feel they cannot go through the pregnancy. I do not like that some use abortion as a method of birth control, but how do you monitor what a persons reasons are for getting one?

I would have to agree... although I don't believe that abortion would be a viable option for me... and i can't agree with it as a form of birth control... i do understand how some woment might feel they would need abortion for any number of reasons, ie: rape, incest, terminal illness for the fetus, etc.... and probably even more circumstances that i have not thought of yet. Pretty controversial subject here. What is right for me, may not be right for another...

The only good thing is that maybe this will wake up the majority in this country who are in favor of at least some abortion rights. This law does not make an exception for pregnancies caused by rape or incest. Not even the rape or incest of children.

This is the vision some people have for the country. Get active if you're not active already. We need to send a big, clear, loud NO message to the people who want to see women return to their "proper" roles as baby factories, willing or not.

Latest news: Green card received 16 April 2007. USCIS-free until 3 January 2009! Eligible to naturalize 3 April 2010.

These threads make me SICK. They way that people comment about lives of babies like a burden, a bother. It is disgusting and SAD. The rape/incest argument is so rediculous. That isn't the issue. Millions of babies are killed-not because women have been raped, but because of an unplanned pregancy. I wish people would claim responsibility for their actions. Rape and incest victims are few and far between in this issue-- and with reguard to that, two wrongs don't make a right. That child is being punished for someone elses crime--talk about an innocent victim of crime. Now with abortion of a child conceived of rape now makes two vicitms. That isn't a solution.

Please deliver this speech to a pregnant teenager who was raped. Then you'll have some cred with me.
