okay, Andie and Shugufa.... that's exactly what I wanted to know.

Thanks to you, I'll spare myself.

and Hopefully others will too.

I think I stated earlier, on another thread, that the uscis.gov page, when checking status, states that they are reviewing my "I130" app.... when very clearly, I've filed the I-129F. So, I was immediately suspicious about their validity and accuracy of running the site.

Thanks again for confirming what I imagined.

You need to call them about your issue. That is more serious than a case that is not updated on status.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Agree. I would call about the I-130 I-129F issue. There is some confusion going on there, so you need to clarify it with them.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

You think?

I was 'writing it off', as I said, as a careless error on their part.

Call?

I've done that, and it seems to me, there's no way to get past the AUTOMATION, and talk to a real person.

Of course, I called before I realized this error.

Any advice on how to talk to a real person? and do it without making an entire day affair out of it?

there is definitely NO MISTAKING in my application.

I've done this once before.

Sent in about an inch and a half stack of well-organized documentation of a 3-year-plus relationship, the first time. Her interview was about 2 minutes, and no problems. Visa granted.

You could call them but it sounds like if they didn't say anything then it is just following the normal process and time it takes to issue the visa at your embassy. If they said they kept the passport and said they will call when the visa is ready then I would just expect to hear from them when it is issued.

Thank you for your replay, ahhhhhhh that made me feel better, you are right! they would say it if they put us under AP. Anyways thank you again and good luck

Yes you talk to a real person by using the options on the menu.

To be honest all you do is search the VJ forum and you can find a ton of threads on how to get through to an operator on the USCIS line. You could also probably figure it out if you call and try the options. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/218039-how-can-i-talk-to-a-human-being-ar-uscis/

There is a costumer service number that you can call, usually in I-179, I called that number many times and talked with a live costumer service agent, there was no problem. Good Luck, hope your issue will be solved soon :)

Gland, it would appear to me, at this time, the reason this site, visajourney, exists, is because the uscis.gov site is not really much help. But, more help here, looking backwards at the most recent posts and timelines, to see what is happening with other people who have similar parameters to their cases, as ours.

I'm going to take the advice of a couple of posters above, and attempt to get through to a real person at uscis about the mix-up, that being that I filed an I-129F, but on the uscis.gov site, when I type in my case number, they report the status of my I-130.

My premonition is still that it is/was a typo error on their part.

But, I will report back here as to the agony of getting through, and also as to the result. Next week.

My mind is at ease, though.

I just located my official I-797C, Notice of Action.

Clearly, on the second line from the top, on the left, in the box where they designate "Case Type"

it is written: I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiance(e).

So, in the mean time, I'm still writing-off the lil blunder on uscis.gov status page about the status of my I-130, as an error on the part of the person tending to that page.

Maybe they use a robot.

No! The robot would have gotten it RIGHT.

slap my hands.

Thanks for the correction.

And, I'm not sure I understand completely, your explanation.

But, I have been wondering myself, if it is REALLY ANY HELP OR JUST HINDRANCE,... to establish an account on https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp to track activity between the NOA1 and NOA2.

Can anyone give an opinion??

Setting up an account also provides text/e-mail notifications; though I've read here that sometimes it did not happened. In our case, I got a text when NOA2 was approved, followed by an e-mail; paper approval came several days letter. Since time is of the essence here, having 'advanced' notice always helps in preparing for next steps.

Hello Sister, you can only determine if your case is under administrative process or not through the card that they give you. if your fiance has a yellow card it means he is under AP if he has got red one then it means he is good to go within a month or so ask your fiance if we he has red or yellow one.... i got yellow which is disappointing and it clearly says that your case is under AP.

it will take 3 to 4 months and they will let me know when my visa is ready lol :)the card says

yellow card?

red card?

Is this something peculiar to Afghanistan?

I could be wrong, but... something makes me think if you are applying for a visa for someone from Afghanistan or Iraq, ... then you got a loooong road ahead of ya.

I am sorry but what you just wrote is not completely right, it depends, I know some who got visa for someone in Afghanistan in 5 months with no AP, so its not always true,

its probably not peculiar to Afghanistan because that is how they do the process at the embassy.

if you mean something particular to Afghanistan, most embassys use different methods of approval. You need to see your own country section to find out what their usual practice is.

I asked my fiance what kind of card he got, he said after interview he got a yellow card because he was missing some documents and after he submitted the documents they didnt give him anything, they said we will call you when your visa is ready. I asked him if there is anything about AP in that yellow card, he said that he doesn't think so but at that moment he didnt have it with him. He said if it has anything like that then he will scan it and send it to me.
