That does not work when the case is at the US embassy in another country. It also does not work when the case is in AP in the other country. It is only for tracking when the case is at USCIS.

slap my hands.

Thanks for the correction.

And, I'm not sure I understand completely, your explanation.

But, I have been wondering myself, if it is REALLY ANY HELP OR JUST HINDRANCE,... to establish an account on https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp to track activity between the NOA1 and NOA2.

Can anyone give an opinion??

jajaja... wondering why when you copy and paste those pages from the uscis.gov, they always leave out a few letters upon pasting...?

USCIS Customers (applicants or petitioners) and Representatives (such as lawyers, charitable groups, or corporations) who require regular access to status information about multiple cases can create an account to more conveniently access this information. The services provided to both account types are identical, except Representatives may also enter their own internal office tracking number with each receipt number.

In addition, USCIS Customers and Representatives can choose to receive automatic case status updates, which will be sent via e-mail. A new pilot program provides the additional option to receive a text message notification that a case status update has occurred, which will be sent to a United States mobile phone number. USCIS Customers and Representatives that select the option to receive the text message notification acknowledge that Standard Messaging Rates or other charges related to these notifications may apply.

I got a text and E-mail when my NOA2 was ready. Other than that I never so any activity. It was nice to get a text and wonder what it is then see that it was from USICS.

Jaja... this was pretty kewl:

I put the I-129F app in the mail on my way to the airport to go to Colombia on July 23.

We were awoken early on the morning of her birthday, July 27, by that text from USCIS, with the NOA1/receipt number.

Think that brought a (bigger) smile to her face???

Good question.. It gives you something else to do while you are waiting for approval of your I-129F, so long as you keep in mind that it is not always kept updated and in fact many people on this site have found that their Case Status has still shown "Initial Review" long after they have had their petition approved. So it is not entirely accurate.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

Hey guys how do I know if my fiances case is under AP?, I mean they didnt tell us anything like that. All they said was we will call you when your visa is ready.. I am so confused

Yes you are right. My fiance had his interview last week, and in USCIS website it still says we received your petition and its being precessed. So that website is not that helpful.

Call or check on line till you get it sorted out.

It hasn't even been a week since they told us to wait for their call. I am still wondering if our case is under AP or not because they didnt tell us anything like that. They kept his passport and said that they will call him when his visa is ready. wouldnt they tell us if we were under AP?

okay, Andie and Shugufa.... that's exactly what I wanted to know.

Thanks to you, I'll spare myself.

and Hopefully others will too.

I think I stated earlier, on another thread, that the uscis.gov page, when checking status, states that they are reviewing my "I130" app.... when very clearly, I've filed the I-129F. So, I was immediately suspicious about their validity and accuracy of running the site.

Thanks again for confirming what I imagined.

You could call them but it sounds like if they didn't say anything then it is just following the normal process and time it takes to issue the visa at your embassy. If they said they kept the passport and said they will call when the visa is ready then I would just expect to hear from them when it is issued.
