Posting fatwas, ahadeeth and ayat are really pointless if someone is not muslim. And, doing so in a judgmental holier than thou attitude is actully very unislamic. I can post some too...if you don't mind of course.

"Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious." Noble Qur'ân 16:125

I see nothing that is wise or beautiful about your attitude. Rather than chastising non-muslims for acting "un-islamic" you should focus your energy on the muslims who are in said "un-islamic" situations.

(109:6) To you is your religion, and to me, my religion.

Now, really :ot2: because none of what you're saying is on topic :)

When I visited my fiance we always stayed at the IBIS Hotel next to the train station. Never had a problem. We stayed at the IBIS in several different cities and all was well.

maximum 6 months statutory prison sentance,if caught, possible deportation of non Moroccan(Moroccan Law)

CRIMINAL PENALTIES: While you are traveling in Morocco you are subject to its laws even if you are a U.S. citizen. Foreign laws and legal systems can be vastly different from our own. In some places you may be taken in for questioning if you don’t have your passport with you. There are also some things that might be legal in the country you visit, but still illegal in the United States, and you can be prosecuted under U.S. law if you buy pirated goods. Engaging in sexual conduct with children or using or disseminating child pornography in a foreign country is a crime prosecutable in the United States. If you break local laws in Morocco your U.S. passport won’t help you avoid arrest or prosecution. It’s very important to know what’s legal and what’s not wherever you go.

I picture this guy as a gunless Moroccan rent a cop with a chest length beard and a kufi on his head.

Whatever. Officials in these countries make fresh new laws on the spot and DEMAND the bribes.

@wack - muttawa are always gunless. Cant be trusted with one. Mumbling nuts in the US are generally prohibited from owning/carrying them too for the same reason.

On the issue of music:

Narrates ‘A’ishah (rta): The Messenger (sws) of God came to my residence while two female singers were singing the songs of Bu‘ath.1 The Holy Prophet (sws) lay down and turned his face to the other side. Meanwhile Abu Bakr (rta) entered and [seeing the singers] rebuked me thus: ‘Satanic musical instruments in the presence of the Holy Prophet (sws)?’ On hearing this God’s Messenger (sws) turned towards him and said: ‘Let them [sing and rejoice]’. When Abu Bakr was engaged in some other business, I signaled to the girls [to go out] and they left. It was on the ‘Id day.2 (Bukhari, No: 907)

It appears that music and musical instruments were permitted?

Well when a NON-MUSLIM comes to a MUSLIM country he or she must act accordingly to the LAWS of the ISLAMIC country and simply not think they can change them by bribes or any other ways of not complying with the law and the same is for the MUSLIM coming to NON-MUSLIM country.

i don't get it.

Thanks for that nugget of wisdom. I was completely unaware of that. <----that's sarcasm, in case you were unsure.

Considering the source?

No uncertainty here on the issue of sarcasm or nasty attitude but thank you for clarifying it for the rest of the e-world.

Kindly replace "nugget of wisdom" with "joke" and call your doctor immediately. You are out of hormone pills and appear as if you need a gallon of ice cream, a large multi-topping pizza, and a weekend to yourself.
