Every so often I venture into another forum ( I know :bonk: )

What is with the folks who have little videos in their sigs? One has a 'personal photo montage' which I would consider a little too personal (there's lingerie) and another has their fiancé waking up on skype....seriously folks - too personal

That is my small rant....Happy almost Thanksgiving Canadian peoples!

I recall a few yrs back on here I posted that someone was posting fairly racy pics of the wife on here. I mentioned NO names, nothing, but that person came onto the Canada forum and felt I was in the wrong, lol Not sure why he would think that, if I had made NO mention of his name.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

They are older men who want to show off their young trophy in all her (semi) naked glory. Most I see come from one specific country. Anyway, I agree with you!

I agree, it's one thing to feel the need to show off your girl and what some of these guys are doing is down right disrespectful. I sure most of the fiancees would not approve.

Happy Thanksgiving

 I'm sure glad I have NEVER seen that. But I do agree that some people have a little less decorum than they should being as this is not one of THOSE forums...

HAPPY CANADIAN THANKSGIVING everyone!!!

What does those forums mean? Are you insulting people who don't agree with you by associating their choice of images with something disreputable?

What? Where did this response come from? Who mentioned any disagreements?

And yes, I agree. Some people put REALLY personal videos/pictures in their signature. It makes me a little uncomfortable, not gonna lie.

Hikergirl, and I quote, said " But I do agree that some people have a little less decorum than they should being as this is not one of THOSE forums."

That implies that people who post that stuff up are automatically associating themselves with something they should be ashamed of.

Everyone here has a right to be uncomfortable but no one here has a right to say what ought and ought not be done. You can say 'I felt uncomfortable' or 'I wouldn't do that' but making any sort of definitive statement is the height of arrogance.

I think you are reading something into my comment that was not there. Where did I say they should be ashamed?

This is supposed to be a forum for immigration. There are some cultures and countries where viewing nudity is not allowed and as a consequence they would feel they shouldn't or couldn't be a part of this forum.

For you to read into what I said and then call me arrogant because of what you read into it is upsetting to me.

Not quite - but you're right - just because I think it's inappropriate doesn't mean they do...good point.

I still think it's TMI :)

It's just a way of showing "my fiancee is better (whatever that means) than yours". Men do that.

Funny thing - it's both female I think.

I wish they was a way they could post those pictures on their profile page so I don't have to see their lingerie clad fiance/wife (never the husband is it?). Or maybe if I could block them on my profile so they don't show up when I load the page. Not only I don't care to see them but oftentimes I wish I had not.

TMI definitely.

Happy Turkey Day everyone!
