I just received my interview letter and my interview is next month.

in the letter it tells me to bring "Any evidence of Selective Service Registration"

I was born on may82 and I entered US or became LPR in dec08. And I have not registered for any selective service.

Do they send this notice in general or do I need to provide evidence of selective service registration.

If I need to provide that proof then how can I do that because I still have one month for the interview.

You do/did not need to register for Selective Service. The age is 18 through 26. I believe the way the exactly word it is till the day of your 26th birthday but not after...

I think it is a generic letter...

I am sure that it is a generic letter. I was born in 1961 and I came to US in 2008 (when I was 47 years old). On July/2011, in my interview letter, USCIS also told me bring " Any evidence of Selective Service Registration". Of course, I did bring nothing about it, and the I.O did not ask me anything about "Selective Service Registration"

Can anyone verify that my comment is correct? The OP was 26 years of age when he became a LPR... my understanding is that if you became a LPR on your 26th birthday day, then you still have to register, but not required if after your 26th birthday day....

Almost all male U.S. citizens, and male aliens living in the U.S., who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service. so if you become LPR after you reach 26 yrs then you don't need to register. but it is recommended to contact the SSA and request a status letter, which might help clear any doubts but it is not required.
