Chris, Katherine and Paris I do not see imitations--I see someone genuine

I like Chris, and I do think he will end up winning... but he's not doing anything original. All those song versions the judges keep saying he "made his own" are just rip-offs of other bands' covers of the songs. I guess the judges either don't know that, or they would prefer not to point it out and make him seem less original.

04/13/06 - I-129F mailed

04/18/06 - NOA1

08/30/06 - NOA2

09/26/06 - received at NVC

09/27/06 - forwarded to consulate

20/11/06 - visa in my pocket!

14/01/07 - POE

13/04/07 - marriage

27/04/07 docs sent in for AOS, EAD, AP

26/06/07 - biometrics appointment

02/17/07 - AP and EAD arrive

03/03/08 - Infopass - where the heck is my AOS interview?? No one knows!

I only saw that happen once and the next day they said who had recorded that version

I only heard them mention it the following week, but I didn't watch the results show. Still, I think they'd have ignored it if not for the fact that everyone on the internet had gone crazy that he had done cover versions two nights in a row (stevie Wonder night with a Red Hot Chili Pepper's version, I believe) and received a tongue bath from the judges for being original, both times.

I exaggerate a little because the judges bug me, and I wouldn't have noticed myself. I'm too old to be hip to grunge band versions of songs. My younger and more hip roomie was the one who kept pointing it out!

In the end though, I like Chris. I prefer a rock style to Whitney/Celine style any day.

For those that missed yesterday....

Chris Daughty-Have you ever really loved a woman

shoot, that is the only one I can find so far :P

I have nothing by Katherine McPhee

I didn't even recogonize the song as Whitney's at first.... isn't that a good thing? I still think she did a better job then Whitney

A Song for You by Elliot Yamin

His voice sounded good but the arrangement was too big for the song

Thanks for the links :) I had only found Chris's song on YouTube so far. Chris, Elliot and Katharine all sounded good (no comments on Taylor...). Hopefully someone will post Paris's song too. I'd like to hear how she did.

thanks for the links to katharine and elliott... i missed them because i had to stay late at work... i walked in as paula was crying and mumbling out effusive praise... i had been wanting to see how they did...

katharine did great... shes getting better each week... but then, so are others... but, i do have to say... WHOA at that dress!!!!!! i thought this was prime time non-cable television... it was quite shocking that it was allowed... i thought her boobs were gonna pop out and that slit would come all the way up to her crotch (or didnt it?) im sure its not a problem for yall guys out there ;)

elliott... again, technically perfect... nailed every note... hes seeming more comfortable on stage... i like him
