My fiance had his interview on Sept. 12th. and I was present at the interview. The consular officer said everything was, interview went fine and all the paperwork submitted was fine. She just informed us that they have to do additional administrative processing and that we should check our case status to see if we get approved. She sounded very positive and almost assuring us that he will get his visa approval within a month, possibly a little longer. I have been checking the site for nearly three and half weeks and it read: application in processing. TODAY when i checked it read: CASE NUMBER NOT FOUND! What does this mean? Is this a denial? Did his case get lost? Oh man, I am in total panic mode right now!

PLEASE HELP!

Not alot of advice i can give you except there were murmurs around the forums that uscis is working on their system and this could be why, just take some deep breaths, and wait until tomorrow to recheck if still not showing a phone call to uscis might be helpful

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but his case is at the Abu Dhabi U.S. consulate, would it affected by the USCIS technical issues?

or it could be a simple mistype or, maybe they have completed AP, I would just recheck tomorrow if i were you (and I assumed you were checking off of uscis and not through the embassy - but any work on the uscis case updates system could be affected noone knows for sure)

Thanks Chris. I just e-mailed the embassy. I am concerned that he might have been refused! I know it can't be a mistype. I have written the case number at least twice a day in that space it provides. IT'S SUCH AN ANNOYING PROCESS!

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I understand that, but I am just confused why in the past weeks it read: "application in process" and all of the sudden, it says "case number not found." Is my fiance's visa denied? Is it almost done? Has anyone gone through something similar?

Any information is greatly appreciated!

Call DOS like the other person said, you should not be using USCIS to check the case status anymore as they have nothing to do with the case anymore.

I am not using the USCIS website. When the interview at the embassy was completed, the CO gave me a sheet with the website address to check his visa status. This is the website for the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi. I am so freaking frustrated! I can't believe this has happened, but I will call the number you guys have provided.

Thanks for the advice.

Hello fellow VJ members...

I had emailed the embassy five times over the weekend stressing concerns of my case status. When I checked today it says application in processing. Weird, but I am real happy to see that.. I suppose things can be worse than being in AP!

  • 2 weeks later...

An update:

I called DOS to get any info on my case. The representative responded: I can't give you any information as to the details of your case, but I can tell you the status of the case. The status is still "pending" or "processing" but I DO KNOW NOW THAT IT IS NOT IN WASHINGTON, IT IS AT THE ABU DHABI EMBASSY. What could that mean??

It means nothing. There's no reason the file would ever be in Washington. The main reason for calling Department of State is because they have access to the same computer database that the consulates use, and DoS actually answers the phone. However, their customer service reps can be just as clueless as any other US government agency.
