Now they are all being held hostage by the unions that are forcing them to sign the same kind of contracts that got them in trouble before the bailouts.

Ford is screwed:

Ford was the only one of the Big 3 that never took a nickel from the government. As far as the union members getting a raise, the union took giant pay cuts and is now getting some of that back. Seeing how the suits for Ford all got raises on top of bonuses now that Ford is turning a nice profit, I don't see why the real workers shouldn't share in some of that profit.

It's easy to bash the unions when you don't look at the salary's and bonuses of the suits up stairs.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

It isn't really the salaries, it's the generous benefits with little or no co-pays, or employee contributions, and the unrealistic retirement promises that can't possibly be met. I know many a trade union member that has already converted their retirement funds so that they won't be left with pennies on the dollar within a decade or two. If you are not close to retirement age now, forget about getting any of that money at all.

As for me, I haven't found myself cheering on the NYPD this much in years... maybe ever. I was listening to my local hip hop radio station on the drive in this morning and they were talking about how 'the hood' is starting to show up at the protests and it isn't just white hippies anymore... .

The thing that really concerns me here is the fact that they are there. Not because I think they actually have a point, but because of what has driven them there. I'm probably generalizing here based on the fact that many of my son's friends are of this age and sympathize with them so I guess that a large percentage of them are either college students or college graduates. They wouldn't be there if they had careers to go to. They are frustrated that despite their years of education they cannot find good jobs, and now they have student loans to pay and no real signs of hope.--That's pretty depressing. Used to be a college education-even a mediocre one- meant a pretty good future, but now you are just over-qualified.

So, the fact that there are so many of these displaced college students out there with no future- that's worrisome. I don't see getting my naked room anytime soon.

For years, I have wondered and waited for Americans to start marching in the streets. $5 buck gas did not do it, but a world-wide movement of change influenced some Americans to get their big butts off the couch and hit the streets. Hey, the masses of unemployed facing chronic unemployment have nothing to lose, and nothing to do, so why not protest your plight. More power to them, but we need the young and hungry to show up en mass and stop traffic.

As for me, I haven't found myself cheering on the NYPD this much in years... maybe ever. I was listening to my local hip hop radio station on the drive in this morning and they were talking about how 'the hood' is starting to show up at the protests and it isn't just white hippies anymore... about how this and that revolutionary party and socialist group and other various wackos are beginning to show up at the protests and it occurs to me that this is just a left version of the Tea Party. Fukc the Tea Party and fukc these Occupy Wall Street fukcheads too.

It's a cycle. Different groups, different topic, different focus.

But still in the same cycle.

You can get it, if you try.

Good Luck !
