Now the protesters are asking for donations of "cold weather items". Who the hell thinks that not working and asking for handouts is going to get them anywhere in life!

Firstly, the protesters being there in the first place means that they care enough to fight for their own future and not lie down lie down with all the other sheeple who think that the American dream still exists. Secondly, they are not looking for handouts, they are looking for solidarity from their fellow citizens who can't come and protest themselves but still would like to help out anyway they can.

P.S. Most protesters aren't looking for handouts from the government, all they want is to be able to live in country where ordinary people rights are not trampled on by the top 1%.

Citigroup, which is under new and better management now, settled the case without admitting or denying any wrongdoing. James Stewart, a business columnist for The Times, noted that Citigroup’s flimflam made “Goldman Sachs mortgage traders look like Boy Scouts. In settling its fraud charges for $550 million last year, Goldman was accused by the S.E.C. of being the middleman in a similar deal, allowing the hedge fund manager John Paulson to help choose the mortgages and then bet against them without disclosing this to the other parties. Citigroup dispensed with a Paulson figure altogether, grabbing those lucrative roles for itself.” (Last Thursday, the U.S. District Court judge overseeing the case demanded that the S.E.C. explain how such serious securities fraud could end with the defendant neither admitting nor denying wrongdoing.)

Did you hear the one about the bankers?

You see, what they don't tell you when you take out a student loan with say, the likes of Sally Mae, is that 7.75% rate they quote you is in fact compounded daily.

Sounds like the vigorish charged by your friendly neighborhood loan shark. Maybe Tony Soprano should get into the student loan business.

Ya know, I like to see such energy with a protest, going 'global' - but

I think the focus is misplaced, just imagine the real outcome if the

focus was on the shipping ports, to keep chinese goods from being unloaded at the dock,

with an additional push to 'bring back' the concepts of 'local manufacturing base' .

Same effort, different results, all wage-earners benefit (if yer not chinese in China, that is)

I wrote a nice op-ed piece about this, was published over the weekend. Dealt with 'food chains' as well.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
