The US Federal Reserve held between $700 billion and $800 billion of Treasury notes on its balance sheet before the recession. In late November 2008, the Fed started buying $600 billion in Mortgage-backed securities (MBS).[44] By March 2009, it held $1.75 trillion of bank debt, MBS, and Treasury notes, and reached a peak of $2.1 trillion in June 2010. Further purchases were halted as the economy had started to improve, but resumed in August 2010 when the Fed decided the economy wasn't growing robustly. After the halt in June holdings started falling naturally as debt matured and were projected to fall to $1.7 trillion by 2012. The Fed's revised goal became to keep holdings at the $2.054 trillion level. To maintain that level, the Fed bought $30 billion in 2–10 year Treasury notes a month. In November 2010, the Fed announced a second round of quantitative easing, or "QE2", buying $600 billion of Treasury securities by the end of the second quarter of 2011.[45][46]

No, that doesn't answer my question.

Let's go back...

You said-

"You apparently don't seem to care that the FED is lending trillions of dollars to wall street banks, using money it simply created out of thin air, in order to allow said same banks to plug holes in their balance sheets, because many of their customers are unable to repay money that the banks themselves also created out of thin air in the first place.

...

You don't seem to mind that as long the huge debt that the average US citizen is burdened with exists, then there can be no meaningful economic growth for years to come. "

Nobody is questioning that this happened and is happening, okay? What I asking is, why do you think the Right wing doesn't care about these things?

How do I feel about the Occupy Wallstreeters?

Well, mostly, that I have at least a little envy, in that I GO TO WORK EVERY DAY (they don't), and looks to me like probably, ... they are SMOKING ALOT OF HOOTCH (and, because I work every day, .. I can't).

Other than that, they're mostly a big bunch of scumbags, with little else that they need, want, or can to for our country.

The ethnic Chinese is Southeast Asia is a good story to relate to. They are still a discriminated group, has been discriminated for many centuries. In fact in Malaysia, there is this "bumi" law, favoring ethnic Malays in many aspects -- job, welfare, benefits, education yet the economic backbone of the country are the ethnic Chinese and the ethnic Malays lag behind after 40 years of NEP.

One really has to ponder of the pre-Mao ethics of the ethnic Chinese.

By the way, they never complained, never protested, never asked for welfare.

Now, how did they manage to become their host countries economic backbone within the past 60 or 70 years despite the discrimination?

As a closing, the ethnic Chinese in Southeast are called "The Jews of Asia"

Thrift, investment, and nepotism. Even in Hawaii, they are called, "Pake". The resentment is real.

Why is it that America doesn't trust kids under the age of 21 to drink alcohol, yet it has no problem with the said same kids signing themselves up for a life time of student debt which they may never be able to repay?

You see, what they don't tell you when you take out a student loan with say, the likes of Sally Mae, is that 7.75% rate they quote you is in fact compounded daily.

tumblr_ltun16R3421r5caieo1_500.jpg

My story is sadly like many of yours on this blog/forum. In 1995, I graduated college with a BA in English. I soon began grad school in 1996 to become an English teacher. I borrowed a total of $55,000. Over the last 16 years, I’ve paid Sallie Mae $40,000. I have printed out my records and calculated this. My balance is currently $75,000. My principal has not decreased, but increased. My interest is 7.75%. I am an English major, so pardon me on my math, but $40,000 does not sound like 7.75% interest on a loan amount of $55,000. I highly recommend we all get together, find a good law firm, and take out a class action lawsuit against Sallie Mae before the Supreme Court takes away the right to sue private loan companies. Sallie Mae is headed up by white collar criminals. Their day is currently pending in court because their shareholders are not happy with them either:
