Here's the situation can someone confirm if I'm doing this right?

I am an independent. File my taxes independently and alone and I am sponsoring my wife so i filled out an i864

My mother who files joint taxes with my father is a co-sponsor. She fills out an i864 as well and my father fills out an i864-A

Yes, if your mother is the head of her household. Otherwise, have Dad fill out the I-864 and Mom the "a".

lets say my mom is the head of the household. So my dad should be filling out an i864a right? And my dads information goes on part 1-8 of the i864a form correct?

As your mom is the HOH, she fills out i864 completely and then your dad fills out i864a, Part1, 1-11 and all of Part 2. Make sure to show properly whose income it is you're using (on #24 and #25 of i864 & #11 on i864) since they have filed jointly. So, you need a complete copies of 1040 Tax Return for both and their W2's, 1099s, etc. Good luck!
