My mother I130 has been approved and forwarded to the NVC. I want to make sure we are ready for the next steps. I've had trouble finding a definitive answer on whether or not we need to submit original documents to the NVC or whether we just submit copies and my mother takes the originals only the interview at the embassy in Islamabad. Anyone know how this works? I'm confused as if at the time of interview the embassy asked for the original documents again.

Please any one who filed IR5 from Pakistan.

Thanks-

Originals should be sent to NVC but remb to get certified copies before sending just in case something happens to them they will be given back at the interview or sent back with the passport. If they ask for originals again just tell them at interview time they already have them and if they dont you can provide teh certified copy of it.. telling them you sent the originals to NVC.

That's normal.. for ISL... they are probably doing Mandatory AP then... it stinks and takes time and waiting is hard but each day is a day closer... You can continue to call DOS and find out information and try contacting the embassy about once per month. It's due to extra security checks but who knows it may still go faster and within a month or two you may see visa... its very unpredictable..good luck

Medical doesn't expire for one year. So if your visa is going to be issued within that time no new medical is required. They will also tell you what they need if it takes some time to complete and give you time to get that taken care of and sent in so they can issue the visa.
