The question on the g-325a is: If your native alphabet is in other then Roman letters, write your name in native alphabet below:

Since Pui has now taken my last name her last name is in roman letters but her first name can be written in Thai. Does she leave it as NONE or does she write her first name in Thai and last name in roman letters? Thanks for your help everyone.

Andy, here's what we did...after debating about it--we put her full legal name in Thai.

If my wife has legally taken my surname then her new last name will eventually be listed on her new passport, etc., which of course has the name in English letters and in Thai letters. So then we had to figure out how to spell her new last name in Thai. We disagreed on how she should spell it. I said it would sound funny if people pronounced it as she wanted to spell it. But she insisted. I figured she knew what looked right even if, in my mind, there was another vowel that would make it closer to the true pronunciation.

Andy. Think about what that info is used for at this point. It could be done either way but I did it in English. It is going to be reviewed by people that can not read Thai anyway.

We did the same as Khaopat (full legal name in Thai). Rin changed her ID within a few days of us getting married, so she already had it in Thai. Used that on the forms (since it asked for it in her 'native alphabet"). Other places within the documentation it is in english.

Nan spelled my last name in Thai. She figured it out phonetically.

Thanks everybody. I will just have her write full name in thai. She had already figured out how to write our last name in thai. I think she was planning on writing her first, middle and last names in thai. Since she did not have a middle name she took her maiden name as her middle name when we got married.
