October 2011 AOS Filers!

We filed our AOS paperwork at the end of September, got our first notice on October 3rd. We waited and waited for the biometics appointment. Ended up called after 30 days, they told us if we hadn't heard anything in 2 weeks to call back. Finally got the notice that the biometrics appointment is on December 7th!!! Cannot believe how incredibly slow this is. At this rate his interview will be in October of next year. Very frustrating. My husband would like to actually start working and help me out by earning some money.

Yeah, you can go to your biometrics center earlier and ask to do it on that day. If they're in a nice mood and its not too busy then you can get it done. It takes about 15 minutes and its supposed to speed up the whole process, but I don't know if thats been confirmed.

Any oct filers get their EAD yet?

Do you mean have the EAD in possession or just get the approval notice?

If the latter, then this here October filer has an EAD in production.

Well, it's not really mine. It's my wife's. And we don't really care about the EAD. We just want the AP!! :energy:

Hi all! Haven't checked in on here for a while.

I had my biometrics done on Oct 28th and still haven't heard anything. Desperate to be able to work like a lot of others on here.

How many cases generally get interviews? I thought most K1 applicants don't get them?

And what does getting transferred to CSC mean? Do most people get transferred?

Hoping the holiday weekend doesn't mean the offices are slacking off too much!

Hi jingo,

a transfer to the CSC apparentely means that the applicant most likely will NOT go through an interview and that means 2 or 3 weeks less of waiting for the green card.

I'll tell you guys something slightly funny.

A few weeks ago my wife and I took a road trip to Arizona from California.

I didn't want to take any chances so I took a copy of her I-485 NOA just in case seeing as Arizona has some border patrol issues.

So we were driving to Sedona. Then I saw a warning sign momentarily on the road.

It wasn't able to read the sign in its entirety but I made out ....WARNING....ICE....

Immediately I was thinking HOLY ####### what is ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) doing hell. I was about to tell my wife, get the NOA ready !!!!!!

Of course, the warning was regarding ice....ie frozen water.

Haha! that is so funny! funny how this process warps our minds into being paranoid that everything we do is immigration related, or will affect our immigration status! congrats on EAD, and hoping you get AP soon!

I think K1's AOSers get the EAD faster anyway, because the case is transferred to CSC.

I had a question....my case has never been touched since oct 8th...i completed biometrics nov 4th..and even after that no touch..is something wrong?
