This forum makes me depressed. No word on anything since my biometrics letter and I'm running out of savings so fast I might actually just have to go home. I did not expect an EAD to take this long.

Jingo I would feel exactly in the same way and I'm really sorry you're going through this #######..It could have happened to anyone of us. I'm crossing my fingers that the service request will give results quickly!

I guess I and a lot of others in here are fortunate :(

Is your spouse not working either? That would have to suck - the wife works a crappy job but we still live at home so no bills to worry about (well no important ones). If we were in dire straights her mum earns nicely so we could be OK for a few weeks.

I am starting to look at applying for jobs in schools as a caretaker/custodian until I can go to school (ie: get my GED).

Jingo: Don't worry - I mean, worry, but don't kill yourself over it. It will just be an oversight on their part since most of us have now had our EADs/GCs.

David.

K-1 Timeline:

14 Sep 2010 - Mailed in I-129F.

08 Feb 2011 - NOA 2.

09 Jun 2011 - Visa in hand.

13 Aug 2011 - Wedding day.

AOS Timeline:

14 Oct 2011 - Mailed in AOS/EAD forms.

21 Oct 2011 - NOA for AOS/EAD.

05 Nov 2011 - Case transferred to CSC.

08 Nov 2011 - Biometrics.

29 Dec 2011 - EAD in hand.

05 Jan 2012 - I-485 Approved (AOS).

11 Jan 2012 - I-551/Permanent Resident Card in hand.

My spouse is finishing his degree so only has a crappy part time job. I have to pay all the rent on where we live. This stupid AOS process has made us fight more than the year of being long distance. Thanks a lot, government.

When I put in the service request they said they would let me local service center know. Is there any point of calling the local center to see if they got the request? I dont know what else to do. Im going crazy and am not good at just waiting.

CONGRATULATIONS to Max1gk/David and Katie on your recent GC approvals!! That is a great way to start the new year :D Good luck with your job hunt David, I'm looking for jobs myself at the moment. I forgot how hard it was to get a job in something you enjoy doing, guess I need to stop being so picky!

Jingo - I'm really sorry you're going through this, please keep us updated with your progress. Just keep hounding them until they give you an answer, don't give up!! Plus the weather sucks back in Britain so don't go home :P

I'm starting to feel a bit bummed out myself as I got transferred to CSC on Oct 26th and I still haven't heard anything. Really wanted to apply for this program but its only open to US citizens and GC holders - oh well I guess everything happens for a reason. I may be stuck in a name check or something, but it seems that everyone who got transferred around my time have yet to be approved/RFE'd, so looks like I just got stuck with the slow worker! grrrr!

Naturalization Journey (Based on 5 years as a PR):

November 21st 2016 - Sent N-400 to Dallas Lockbox.

November 30th - Check Cashed.

December 1st - Email/Text Notifications.

December 8th - Hardcopy of NOA received (Priority Date 11/25).

December 9th - Biometrics Appointment Letter received.

December 19th - Biometrics Appointment.

January 4th 2017 - "In Line" for Interview.

June 9th - Online status changed to "Interview was Scheduled".

June 12th - Interview Letter received.

July 19th - Interview (NYC). Requested a "delayed Oath" for after September 4th 2017.

September 11th - Oath Letter received. Honored my request for a delayed Oath Ceremony.

September 14th - Oath Ceremony.

So is it something I should call them about or is it not a big deal? Its been 5 days since the request.

did they give you a referral number for the service request in case you need to follow up?

it won't hurt to call and follow up again, and if you haven't got any sort of progress report i suggest an infopass. you've only got like 10 days away to your 90 days...so i think you should follow up again.

Hey Jingo, I totally understand about the fighting and the severe long distance! My husband and I were apart for two years, and these last few months have been the worst of our whole relationship. If the only problems that exist between you have everything to do with the lack of EAD, just try and hold on a little longer! :)

I hope the EAD fixes everything, if it ever arrives. Thats a lot of pressure on this one quick fix. My patience is wearing so thin, I am not sure how much longer I am going to sit around and wait until I just decide to leave and go home. Not to mention, I will have to if my savings run out.

I called them again today and spoke to the most useless woman in existence. The tier 2 people are as bad, if not worse than the tier 1 people. I was told not to call back for 30 days. My fate lies in the hands of an organization with less intelligence than a slot machine.
