How long for NOA2 to get to NVC?

Hi all!

Quick question... how long does it take after NOA2 to get to the NVC? I want to be able to have the case number as soon as it becomes available since my interview wait is very longggg :( How long did it take for you??....

I'm sorry I don't remember how long it took, but I don't think it took long. I sent them an inquiry to: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

I gave them our WAC case # and asked them to send me the NVC case number. They did that within a few days and I was able to call and get the interview.

everything I read says you should wait 2 weeks and then call.

Egyptian people are still waiting for their interviews since May 3, 2011. So, I think they have the longest wait that I have seen.

It took 19 days for me to get a case number. I seen one guy it took 66 days and back in March it was only taking a few days. So it is variable.

Good luck on getting yours soon.

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

Mune&Chicha, it definitely didn't take two weeks - and just a note, our original case # was WAC because I'm in California, you're out of Vermont so it'll be VSC, I think?

Vermont case numbers begin with EAC.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number
Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere,and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
I-129F Sent : Jul 28 2014
TSC received: Aug 04 2014
I-129F NOA1 : Aug 06 2014
I-129F NOA2 : Feb 25 2015 (NOA2 copy rcd: Mar 02)

Sent to NVC: Mar 09 / Left NVC Apr 1 / Arr Embassy Apr 7 / Pkt 3 Rcd Apr 15 / Medical Apr 17 / Pkt 3 sent May 1 / Interview May 12

Left NZ May 15

I was told by a person at the nvc that once they receive the file it only takes about 2 to 3 days, but many here say it can take as long as 8 weeks, so it veries case by case.

a lot of people are happy because they get the noa2 and then are hit by another 2 month wait on the nvc. then you have some people who file take the full 3 weeks(I'm in that group) to arrive at the nvc before they even start processing it.

so a more realistic time line is 1 week to 2 months

sorry didn't really read your question fully.

It takes about 15 business days, but the average is about 2 weeks

The case is usually AT the NVC before you get the mailed notice of approval (NOA2) It may take up to a couple weeks for you to get the letter with the case number

In our case I got the letter from the NVC about 2 weeks after the NOA2

My NOA2 was Sept 23. I called today and they have not received my file. Who knows. I got lucky on NOA2, only 3 months at VSC. Maybe the Karma is going to catch me at NVC.

That's me LOL... I calling every day with no luck :(

But its only been a week LOL

@mune and chicha...its takes maybe 1-2 weeks we are so crazy and desperate that i remember calling everyday lol..and the case number starts hav...because its a a case in havana...good luck..

I guess I prayed so hard to get NOA2 and I forgot about this step because it is really and honestly driving me crazy! :( I then have to wait another 8 month for an interview appointment in Cuba so I really need the NVC number to make the appointment :(. I guess we just have to wait. Hopefully send them this week.

Bah!! Mine is still in route I guess.. I received my NOA 2 Sept 23 also, but they have yet to receive it at the NVC.. Inpatiently waiting I guess...
