We are both exactly in the same boat!!!!!!

Our K1 arrived Lagos around the 1st week of september last month and we havn't heard a single word!! I have emailed about 10 times but the response i got was the auto-response...Am not really worried because the embassy were SUPER busy cos of the Fed fiscal year ended in September 30 (it ends sept 30 every year), hence all the pending cases that can't rollover for the next fiscal year(e.g DV lottery cases) have to end on Sept 30 otherwise the applicants would be tossed out.

So we need to chill, pray and hope they call us soon. Let me pshyche us up now: Now there is an advantage of being in the 1st set in this new fiscal year, the advantage is that the embassy would be flush with abundant visas cos the fiscal year just started so if our fiance/fiancees play their cards right and with the grace of God they shouldn't face EXCESS scrutiny (keyword is excess here, cos Lagos always scrutinize anyway). They wouldn't be tossed out for the flimpiest reason simply cos the embassy is running out of its quota for the year cos its way too early.

Hope this helps you calm your nerves down. Have resigned to fate cos this kind of situation is the type you have no control over. SO we can as well relax, calm down, PREPARE and hope the much waited interview date comes

if you guys actually tracked your case files to Lagos then expect your interviews by 2nd week of Dec 2011.

There are no visa quotas for K1 though.

On the other hand they may want to show that they are keeping up with their denial rate. Lagos has cycles. I have seen it over the years. Groups pass through and a week later a stream of denials start. December has always been an iffy month for visas. It is like their goal is to cause pain to families hoping to spend the holidays together.

I will advice you to calm down. You are not the only one that his or her application is being processed. I don,t know the stage you are in now but I will suggest you go to their US web site and study or start filling those forms:

1. DS-230: PART 1 AND PART 2

2. DS-156(In duplicate)

3. DS-157K (In duplicate)

4. DS-157 (In duplicate)

Arrange for your finger print and police certificate and if possible for medical examination with the Hospital. One thing is that you must have your case number and your police certificate for you to be attended to by the physcian( Thats is the process here in the UK)

Start gathering all other documents

-Birth certicificate,

-Proof of your relationship- cards, letters, telephone bill (itemised),pictures of you with date imprint on it,

-Receipt of all the money he or she has been (or you have been) sending

and other documents that you think might help

Start studing the likely questions that might be asked.

Lastly, relax and leave the rest for GOD and wait for your interview date which must surely come.

NVC sent our case to Turkey because my fiance was residng there temporarily. I've contacted US embassy in Lagos to accept the petition. I'm waiting to hear from them...patiently waiting!!
