Question for those of you who had your interview: Are you allowed to have your cell phone with you, if its turned off? Thank you.

I had mine the entire time. Was playing games on it while waiting! :-)

okay, wow... Wishful thinking I guess.... I think we are exempt from biometrics. I just received notification that I am in line for interview scheduling.

I did have mine and not turned off while I was waiting. but you might turn it off during the interview :)

actually I didn't even turn it off, I think it was in silent mode. :)

10/15/11: N-400 mailed to Phoenix, Arizona (Express Mail).

10/17/11: Mail Delivered.

10/20/11: Check cashed.

10/24/11: Received NOA (Priority Date : 10/17/11)

10/27/11: Received FP Letter (Biometrics: 11/15/11)

11/15/11: Biometrics Done!

11/28/11: Online Status: An interview has been scheduled.

12/01/11: Received interview letter

01/04/12: Interview Done - Passed but need to wait until reach 5years.

01/24/12: Scheduled an InfoPass appointment.

01/25/12: Info about case.

01/26/12: Online Status: We scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice

01/30/12: Received oath letter

02/13/12: Oath Ceremony

As for cell phones, they are allowed these days. I saw them all over the waiting room :D I didn't know and left them in the car to be safe... But our kids kept us busy. Though to my surprise, my husband was not allowed to stroll along. He had to wait in the waiting room. He kept our son with him (cause he's 3 and cool without me) while I took our 1 year old daughter ( well she was nearly 1 year at that point) with me. I do think it made a good impression to have my spouse and children with me since this was a marriage based N-400.

9-29-2008 I-751 delivered to CSC

12-29-2008 Green Card ordered :)

Citizenship

10-15-2011 Package sent to NSC

10-17-2011 NOA Priority Date

11-29-2011 In line for interview scheduling... woohoo!

12-20-2011 Interview scheduled ...received letter 3 days later

As for cell phones, they are allowed these days. I saw them all over the waiting room :D I didn't know and left them in the car to be safe... But our kids kept us busy. 11/12/11.....N400 send to Nebraska service center

11/14/11.....N400 delivered to NE

11/21/11.....Check cashed

11/23/11......NOA recived in the mail(priority date nov 14)(notice date nov 21)..(you will be notified of the date and place of your interview when you have been scheduled by the local USCIS office.you should expect to be notified withing 90 days of this notice)

12/13/11......got text and email about biometric letter being send out

12/17/11.......got biometric letter in the mail(appointment date dec 28th)

12/19/11.....did early walk in FP

12/22/11.......got email and text about being placed in line for interview scheduling

01/30/12.......got email from my IO were i was asked to pick my own interview date and send email back with the date i picked

02/06/12......got INETRVIEW email with appointment letter(have to print that out and bring with me on the interview day)

02/28/12.......INTERVIEW with oath on the same day(as long i pass the test afcorse.)

I am bringing my 1 year old too. My oldest will be in daycare. Wanted to make sure I can have my smartphone so my husband can entertain my son while I am interviewing:)

On February 1, 2012, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que. We will send a notice when the ceremony is scheduled. I don't know - I had to make an InfoPass appointment because it was over 45 days after my recommended approval and still no notice of an oath ceremony received.

So I drove to Indianapolis yesterday, and they scheduled me right there for the next available ceremony in my area - February 17th in South Bend.

I guess between Christmas and the Superbowl the fieldoffice in Indianapolis is hibernating?

You should wait until at least February 24th (which would be exactly 45 days after your interview).

I suggest you wait until ten days after that.

So, if by March 5th you still haven't received your invitation to the oath ceremony, go ahead and schedule an InfoPass appointment.

You can schedule that appointment online, but I believe you need to show up in person for the actual meeting.

The only one I could imagine being allowed to go on your behalf would be your lawyer - if you have one officially representing you for the N-400 process.
