One of the criterion for an expedite request is:

- Compelling interest of the USCIS

Does anyone have an example of what that means? Is that as broad an area as it sounds?

As always, thanks for any advice!

I think its compelling interest of the United States. An example would be the applicant is a nuclear physicist working on a special project that furthers the United States in research capability.

Or a Doctor who is going to live in an area where there is a shortage of doctors or any health care professional in a shortage position.

If the petitioner were someone who had a security clearance and the beneficiary was in an "undesirable" country that might fall into this category.

military expedites fall into this category.
