Hey,

My case is finally at NVC and going smooth .. so far :)

I am now ready to submit my AOS and IV packet and have a couple of questions.

I am self-employed, what documents should i submit with AOS. I have my tax transcripts and letter of incorporation from VA state. What additional documentation will i need?

NVC asked me for a formal letter on the company letterhead, what should it include?

Also for NVC, I am having a hard time getting PCC.

My wife has moved 4 times (for education .. undergrad/grad), would i need 4 different PCC? Is NVC strict about this?

She has been living in Mumbai for the past 3 years but Gujarat before that. I have the PCC from her home district (which is also the address on the bio-metrics page on the passport). But have to wait a while for PCC from Mumbai it seems because the passport is issued in a different state and does not have the Mumbai address.

Should I just submit the PCC i have from her home address?

I am not too sure about the self-employed requirements but I read in the previous posting that your 2010 tax transcript income becomes your current income. Along with a formal letter on the company letterhead, I think you have all the documents.

Regarding PCC, US Consulates in India are concern about the Passport Office PCC ( I submitted only one local PCC, one Foreign PCC and one Passport PCC and NVC didn't even bother to mention the Local PCC in the list of documents sent to Consulate - it just mentioned the Passport PCC and the Foreign PCC). So just get the latest local PCC (some Passport Offices need this to issue their PCC) and apply for PCC from the Passport Office that issued the passport. Bottomline - NVC requires Passport Office PCC.

I understand the situation with the US Consulate in India, I will have it all by the interview time. But for now to sumbit to NVC, is one PCC enough?

Your Local PCC will generate a checklist for Passport PCC from NVC. Instead attach a request stating that you will submit the Passport PCC at Interview - sometimes NVC allows such request and sometimes not. Meanwhile try to get the Passport PCC.

If you are lucky, your DS-230 will be accepted and your interview letter will ask you to submit the passport PCC (some Passport offices will not give PCC until the interview letter is submitted and NVC knows those offices) else you will get a RFE (if the Passport Office doesn't insist on interview letter). But sending local PCC will definitely generate RFE.
