Hey everyone!

As of yesterday it has been 2 weeks since I and my fiancee received our NOA2! That ofcourse made us both so happy as it came about a month earlier than we expected (took just over 5 months)!

So following the K1 Process Flowchart, we waited the 2 weeks to contact the NVC, but we are slightly confused at this point. The NVC say they have recieved our case but it has not processed yet and because of this we can not go any further.

Does anyone know how much longer this step can take?

Should we try contact them every day?

I am also slightly confused if we are still on step 5 (Case Forwarded by your Service Center to the National Visa Center) because of this or step 6 (Case Forwarded to U.S. Embassy as specified in the I-129F.)?

In conclusion, I would just like to know a rough estimate on how much longer we will wait to move on to the next step.. If there is anything to worry about? And maybe how long roughly it would be until our interview date!

Thankyou so much for reading.

James

I spoke to someone at the nvc because I need to update my fiancee address and the person told me it takes about 2 to 3 days after they receive it to process it and send it off. so he told me to keep checking daily or just wait for it to get over to the embassy and call them at that point in the process and change the address.

to answer your question: 2 to 3 days for the nvc to finish processing it and only god knows how long for dhl to get the packet to the embassy.

The people on the NVC phone line usually tell you to allow 10-20 business days for processing from the receive date. :) It's usually a lot faster, but I guess it's possible to get stuck in name checks at this point. You can contact them every day if that makes you feel better.

For time to your interview, this is impossible to tell without knowing what consulate you are going through.

It took somewhere around 4 weeks for NVC to process ours and a about two weeks for it to reach embassy where fiancé was. I called the embassy the first week when I found out that I got the NOA2 then called the on the 4th week again and that was when they told me it was sent to embassy. Oops I lied I called 3rd week too. I say if you are gonna call then call only once a week only.

so the person I spoke to at the nvc gave me a false sense that it was a fast process. it's going on 2 weeks since I receive my noa2, so now I just have to just give thie part of the process a 2 months estimate.
