ok, I admit, I was one of those people who had zero interest in chatting with long distance people! I had an ad online to meet LOCAL men to date, and I was getting pretty discouraged. Just as I was about to pull my ad, I got an email from someone who sounded so normal and nice and who spell-checked and everything! Before I knew what was happening, I was swept up by his assertive nature and had agreed to a date - it was only then that I found out he lived across the border. But it wasn't far, so.... once I got sucked in by his charms completely though, he up and moved to Southern California and it has been long distance ever since. Neither of us like it, and we've split up 3 times, but it just doesn't stick. My world is not ok without him.

So here we are!

Thanks for sharing these stories all!

Chris and I met in 2004 in a drumming forum ran by my best friend. We had several mutual friends but never really talked. Both he and I were semi dating people at the time and going through rough spots when a mutual friend introduced us. Neither of us started out interested in doing anything long distance...but chats turned into hours and hours long, lack of sleep, sharing of music...I knew I was becoming attached and was trying to deny it. I thought this was crazy and there was no way this would work. But we still couldn't go an entire day with out talking...never once saying anything about how we felt. Then all of the sudden after months and months of chatting we decided to meet for New Years for 2005 still not admitting this was possibly love.

I can remember it like it was three hours ago. Standing at the bottom of the escalator in the Charlotte airport when this 6'6 red headed man comes down...looking so tired...but with a big smile on his face. Shy so shy.....we walked to my car..feeling all the butterflies. Buckled up and ready to go..he looks over at me and shyly asks if he could be brazen...and then kisses my hand...So small and innocent that was..that is the best memory.

We have been lucky to travel back and forth every 6 weeks to and from England. We are very close to eachothers family and we are so very much in love. AND now I am probably in big trouble to posting this!

As I have said previously we are starting the K-1 process in May...and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with the one person in the entire world that makes me feel like I am irreplacable and important! *giggle* thanks for letting me share! I feel really cheesy and gooey now! :star:

We met online in a chat room. He made the mistake of asking if Nova Scotia was near Germany, I called him a dumb yankee in need of geography lessons, he laughed, and it was all downhill from there. ;)

I met my husband in Yahoo 20's chat. So far we have known eachother for 6 1/2 years. We have only been together for three years. It took us 3 1/2 years to even realised we liked eachother. He was honestly the last person I thought I would date, marry or meet.

Oh I love this topic.

We met in 1999 on icq where he first messaged me and stole my heart. It's been a long journey that will hopefully end soon. He is from Germany and I am in the US. We have been best friends and more since we met on icq. Visa Journey is great, I really love reading everyones stories.

Everybody, post here how you met your fiance!

I met mine at the airport in Kiev after corresponding by e-mail for months. She was the most beautiful girl that I had ever seen. She called my name when I walked through customs, and I looked up and saw a gorgeous girl with a sharp red coat and a furry red hat.

Well I searched around for several months on Elena's models website. I got hooked up with one gal but there was always something about her that made me think something was going on I was not being told. The short of it is that I ended that relationship and was about ready to just call it quits. Say hello to bachelorhood forever.

Then....

I got an email from a gal in Uzbekistan. She had red hair and I am dead set against redheaded women. No offence to anyone but I just never seem to get along with them.

Anyhow, something told me to email her and tell her all about me. BAM! We started emailing everyday and soon chatting for hours on end then talking on the phone.

The more we communicated the more we realized that there was something very special between us.

Traveled to Uzbekistan and we fell head over heels for each other. Asked her to marry me now we wait... and wait... and wait...
