Don't rely on the USCIS website, it's not working very well. If you got the hardcopy, you're good! :)

I'm not on initial review, it got updated well for me on the USCIS website. I subscribed for email and text updates, and we never received any text, but the email worked! Nothing to understand about this… sometimes it works, sometimes not.

You will maybe receive a letter from NVC, but in like 2 weeks. If you want the most recent update on your file, you can call NVC, press 1 for English, then 5 to speak to an operator and ask if they received your case. I don't know how your embassy works, if you need your case number from NVC to book your appointment or medical… If not, you're not obliged to call NVC. :)

Wow i'm so surprised when i received an email from my fiancee. He received the approval letter today! We are approved  I really can't believe it because i checked the USCIS website everyday and until now it is still initial review! I'm not sure if he received the hard copy already i have to ask him tonight , all i know is our papers has been forwarded to the consul! !! October filer here we sent our packet last October 24 , 2011 :D goodluck everyone!!

Same with us Timchen we still in initial review even after the NOA2 approval(31/01/2012) + hard copy(through mail) but no emails, text alerts..... Dont know why???????????? what do u think friends???????

That's the thing that i don't understand. We are both surprised when my hubby received it via mail ( hard copy ). I signed up to the uscis website to get text and email updates but it was useless it didn't work :hehe: now i have to wait for my hubby to come online tonight and ask him more details about packet 2 because i don't know when was our petition was approved. He received the hardcopy already but i don't know yet the approval date that's why i haven't updated yet my timeline , but i'm sure i will update it tonight  Getting ready for the next step goodluck for the rest of october filers

Don't rely on the USCIS website, it's not working very well. If you got the hardcopy, you're good! :)

Indeed , the USCIS website doesn't work properly but still thankful that our k1 was approved with out any RFE . Thanks btw

Also, your case is first forwarded to the NVC, and then to the embassy. I think the NOA2 letter from Vermont is written differently than the one from California (my case: it's stated that it goes first to NVC, then the embassy).

In all cases, once your case is approved (NOA2), it goes to NVC first.

Congrats BTW ! :P

Yes thanks for the info didopage , btw should i start counting from the day our petition was approved like example we're approved Feb. 2 , 2012 , i will count 7 days from that? Before i call NVC for my case number or what?

Thanks

Is you Fiancee in Armenia?

What do you mean? Are you asking for the petitioner loc? I'm the beneficiary and my petitioner came from Oklahoma :)

Yes… but that's just my idea. VJ advice is that you can start trying calling NVC after 2 weeks of your approval. Please go here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow
