Hello Friends of Visa Journey,

I Have a question:

_ After being married in the U.S.. What is the time allowed by immigration, to return my country of birth and visit my family?

Note: I am asking this because it seems it is necessary to stay in the U.S. during time, but how much would this time????

You can leave any time. It's reentering the US that may be a problem. You would need to obtain advance parole or your green card in order reenter the US. You apply for both the advance parole after you have married.

Do some reading in the VJ guides (especially the Adjustment of Status section) to learn more.

Assuming you file for AOS right away and don't allow your status to lapse, you need to wait until you receive Advanced Parole. Occasionally your green card will be processed quicker and you'll end up getting that prior to AP. In general, you're looking at a 2-3 month wait.
