My port of entry is Los Angeles (LAX). I was wondering if 2 hours & 45 minutes is enough time before my next flight? Thank you very much for your reply.

i hope time will be on your side ! but i think you will not make it

Yes,,, it is more then enough time... Although LAX is my least favorite POE...

LAX as a whole is a royal inefficient pain in the A$$.

Good luck!!!

It really depends... for my at-the-time-fiance/now-husband, it took him honestly.... no more than 15 - 20 minutes (review in my signature). Other people... it's taken 3 - 4 hours.

You should be fine, but I think it will depend a lot on what terminal you're flying into, what time of day, if there are a lot of other flights landing around that time, etc.

We did LAX last Thursday 9/29. My fiance landed at 3:53pm and came out the doors at 5:15pm. The big wait was for the luggage, but getting through the border interview took under 5 minutes. It may be quicker with luggage being checked forward to another stop.

Nope my wife was three hours then you need to get to domestic terminal on other side of airport. I would suggest you leave more time.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think if it takes too long the airlines will put you on the next flight; is that not correct? That may be inconvinient, and may cause some other connection problems, but eventually you should get there, huh?

The luggage has to be rechecked. So it is not like the luggage goes without you. I have been first in some customs lines and last in others. I have found that airlines will indeed rebook you, or they will page your name and get you to the front of the line for processing. Sometimes a whole plane is late and there is plenty of rescheduling done.

As stated by others,, if you miss your connection you will be rebooked without cost... Even if your own fault... I have

forgot about a time change before,, thought I had a two hour lay over and actually only had one...

Or my worse yet my wife's immigration story.

She got to Houston and followed everyone else to baggage claim,,, and then wondered where was I. She called from a borrowed

cell phone. I started to laugh... She was at baggage claim #2 as I told her. But, I live in Austin,,, Not Houston...

No problem, lots of flights from Houston, they rebooked her on the next flight and she arrived one hour late in Austin.

regards,

You should always allow more then enough time to connect for a flght. You never know when there is weather ( bad fog for LAX) or even a delay from departure city. Now, I would think anoything over 2 1/2 hours SHOULD be enough time to connect. Good luck

That is quite a story... I can't imagine landing from a foreign country and being in the wrong town and having to borrow a phone. Glad it worked out ok..

Thank GOD everything worked out well for me at the port of entry. It took less than 15 minutes and a lot of it had to do with my fiance' being with me. It was a long queue when we got to immigration, but since my fiance' was with me they told us we could go to the Citizens queue together. The immigration officer was very nice and had a nice and cheerful chat with my fiance'. He only asked one question relating to my K1 entry and that is when the wedding will be, then congratulated us. He then explained to us about the risk of going out of the country before getting a green card and other stuff. Thank you all once again for your reply.
