Maybe I'm suffering from sensory overload from all the information I've been sifting through here there and everywhere, but I'm a bit confused about the Interview Packet for a Manila interview.

First of all, is this packet sent to me in the U.S. or to my fiancee in the Philippines?

Second, I notice transit times ranging from 1 week to 5 weeks to, well, never. I just found out tonight that my fiancee's Medical is Oct 26, Interview is November 2. So now I'm worried about the packet not arriving in time for her to prepare it and have it for her Medical. Is this a concern? Am I right to say she can call St Luke's and have it sent there for pickup? And if so, can she request this at any time, or is she expected to wait a few weeks to make sure the packet doesn't arrive?

Third, does she need to take everything she'll need for the interview with her to her Medical, like Proof of Relationship, I34, etc? Or does she need just her appointment letter, passport, passport photos and the Medical fee?

Thanks for the help!!

Greetings!

Congratulations!

She may wait for the packet before going to ST. Lukes or she may just go ahead and have her medical done even before the packet arrives.

She must have the ff:

1. Passport

2. passport picture for the medical and visa ( 6 pcs.)

3. fee of 95$ ( must be in pesos)

4. ballpen

5. Knowing the new manilacase number ( MNLXXXXXXXXXX) is helpful if you decided to go ahead for medical wihout the appointment letter.

note:

The passport and passport photos will be collected at ST. Lukes so before going to the medical she must copy the front and back page of the passport to back up her identity ( this is bec. some have no valid id and this will serve as her id during her interview at the US Embassy) SO make sure to have her copy the front and back page of her passport.

I am sure that she may even get her packet before Oct. 26,2006.

She will only need Affidavit of support, proof of relationship during her interview.

Goodluck,

Griffin

1. Packet is sent to your fiancee in the Philippines.

2. Your fiancee has to call the embassy to request for her packet to be sent to St. Lukes. Then she has to call St. Luke's to make sure it's there before she picks it up. She can request to have the medical while there. To see what's inside the packet, click here: http://usembassy.state.gov/posts/rp1/wwwh3023.html Scroll down and click the packet that applies to your fiancee.

3. For medical, she only needs to bring her passport, photos, old X-rays (if available) her vaccination record (if available) and medical fee. For a step-by-step medical process at St. Lukes, click here http://www.raymonddouglas.com/visa/medical.pdf

I actually called St. Luke's and had them send a request to the embassy to have my packet sent there for pick up. They will get your MNL case #, your first and last name and will have you to call them back like after two days which I did, and when I call back I was told that they have a packet for me sent by the embassy and is ready for pick up.

But the same day another packet was delivered to my house, good thing I didnt go to St. Luke's yet to pick up my packet there so it saved me money and effort. It turned out I got two packets now.

So you can call St. Luke's and request for your packet sent to them for pick up, but still, the embassy will be sending you one at your residence or to the address they have on their records.

I hope this will help you. My husband was in the US and we had our all the packets sent to texas. What he did was scan the contents of the packet ( including instructions and most importantly the appointment letter) and emailed it to me as an attachment. I printed all those and those were the ones i brought to St.Luke's as proof. If they ask for the original just tell them that it is in the states and they will allow it. Its important for your fiancee to have her medical exam at least a week before her scheduled embassy interview. This will allow you to have some slack because some people dont get cleared medically because of some findings in their exam... some even wait a week until they get cleared because some have to get started TB medications which they only diagnosed with the xray that they took. So to avoid any delays and interview re-scheduling just try my suggestion. let me know what you did
