Usually it's the immigrant demanding money from the USC...interesting turn of events.

He's the guy that's why. In the Philippines, USC Petitioner is usually the guy. It's kinda unusual that the USC petitioner is a woman that makes more money... very rare....at least here.

Happy New Year!

Just for fun:

COURT: Whats your ground for divorcing mr.confused?

USC: Irreconcilable differences.

COURT: About what?

USC: Money. His money

COURT: Go on.

USC: I want him to take me and the entire family to watch Manny Pacquaio's fight. He said it's expensive.

v70995.yeah unfortunately. and, exactly udella.

Ok - well that is very unfortunate, but you certainly do not OWE your wife money or support for her silly demands. They cannot take your GC away from you, only USCIS can. If you married into the marriage in good faith at the time, you have nothing to be scared of. I hope you have your GC in a safe place that only you can access.

Starting to save any documentation you can of her demands if they're by email would be good (although I'm sure they're very carefol to do it all verbally)? It's sad that she feels she can take advantage of you and threaten you because you are an immigrant and perhaps she thinks you don't know as much as you do. Thank goodness for VJ and people who are willing to help, eh?

Technically speaking she promised USCIS she'd support you (the immigrant) in a legally binding agreement...but that isn;t really part of this discussion.

If you are able - file for divorce - you said you're not currently living together anyway? Sounds like you're halfway there now. Don;t bow to her threats - she sounds very manipulative.

A man that lives with a crazy woman has the disadvantage when the police are called. A man that lives with two crazy women (mother or step child plus the wife) should just walk into the police car and get in and close the door because it will be two against one in any story and you will lose. You might walk in one day and see her bleeding or a bruise from hitting her arm on the counter.. while she is calling 911. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

This sounds like abuse to me. I wonder if you can claim mental abuse on the I-751 waiver?

An abuse claim is more difficult that a simple Divorce Waiver, why add any complexity to the situation?

this sounds terrible! I don't think she can kick you out of the US. She doesn't have that kind of power over you and you have your green card right? Get rid of her free=loading, cheating #### as soon as possible!

This is kinda weird story, but I just got my gc the other day and now im stressing out big time because, from what I feel, my wife became a totally different person when she cant milk money from me anymore. We were good friends, had decent jobs. She used to live on SD while I live here in LA. We decided to get married feb 2011. Marriage was im good faith but I had no idea she wanted to marry me to be his personal bank. The whole petition preparation was done by me.no help from her. All throughout the process, shes like "i want this, that" "buy me this, that" and when she doesnt get it, she throws, temper tantrum. She didnt wanna move to LA unless I say yes to her conditions. Her/our own apartment, new cellphone, pay for her international trips, schooling(which her crazy mom has been feeding me to ask from me) and many more.i tried to give all possible stuff to her. Anyways I had the aparment last week of april, and she would hardly drive up unless I lure her with stuff. Its hard for me to drive down to sd coz again, I cant afford the gas weekly. So,everytime shes there, I stay at my parents house few blocks away.i knew my wife is,doin shady stuff. One time I saw guy's short in my house. Its not obviously mine coz its big. I came 2x and caught my wife chillin with 2 different guys.asked her who they where, she said friends. I know shes cheatin but bcause im scared she gets upset and stop the petition, I kept my mouth shut.

Interview was 2 weeks ago and now have gc. Last night her crazy mom called me to remind me their demands, now IM STRESSED OUT coz im still financially struggling, and im the only one working (she moved here last august after quitting her job in sd). I didnt quite have a nice conversation with her mom coz theyre demanding more so,she drove back to sd.now she stopped, communicating with me and scared that may give up the petition and leave me hanging before the roc.

My question is what people on this situation do? Will it harm me if I file divorce or whats gonna happen to me if she files divorce. Is my gc in jeopardy here?

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. If you can't afford a lawyer to get your permanent GC, then you have the option of Enlisting in the US Military. I could be wrong but, you might get your GC extended on the spot and you can apply for citizenship within a year of your enlistment. Just make sure your divorce her first; otherwise she will be entitled to your military benefits. The military pays good money in the long term, but it requires a lot of sacrifices that I think you can handle, considering your situation right now. I'm not trying to recruit you; I'm just saying that this is an option you might want to consider.

Good luck Buddy.

So let me understand - your wife is the USC and you are the immigrant and yet you are having demands put on you for your money?

Usually it's the immigrant demanding money from the USC...interesting turn of events.

Hmmmm....I guess I got things wrong here! I should of kicked the hubby to his own place and milked him for money, even though he is the immigrant that makes less than me....dang why doesn't tell me how this ####### works before I screw up? :bonk:
