I don't understand the long wait tho... I mean how hard is it to do a background check and check for all the requirements that they ask for??? What's the huge hold up?? That shouldn't take anywhere close to half a year...

A long line (huge number of petitions) in front of you.

My Immigration Journey:

K1: June 2010 - December 2010

AOS: April 2011 - June 2011

ROC: April 2013 - August 2013

Naturalization: March 2014 - August 2014

Heaven only knows how many people are applying for the same petitions you and I are. Patience is valuable. Stop obsessing and bide your time with something else. I check my status maybe once a week. It will happen eventually. No amount of agonizing will change a thing.

(This doesn't just apply to K-1 alone, but to everyone)

Why are people obsessed with checking the case #s just sit back and relax, i checked our case # once a week and twice at most and i never called USCIS about it.

I guess people obsessed with it because they want with all of their being to be with each other. I want to be with Amy asap, and every day without her is hard and not fun at all for me. I live waiting that day when we will be together again. And I can't understand how people, who really love each other, can just relax and have fun not being together and not taking care when they'll get visa - 3, 5 or 10 months later, checking case may be once a week if they will have mood to do it. I would be wondered and probably even worried if my Amy would tell me: "Just relax, Vitya, earlier or later we will be together, so let's just have fun while we're waiting documents" o_0 [Victor from Russia]

I counted how many applications USCIS recieved for May 2011 and I counted about 58,000. That includes all apps. I estimated they receive 1000 fiance/spouse applications a day. That is about 30,000 applications for the month. Some of them were sent back for various reasons.

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

PLEASE EDIT YOUR TIMELINE IN YOUR PROFILE SO OTHERS CAN LEARN HOW LONG EACH STEP TAKES IN THIS PROCESS

Yep, once it gets to Texas then they'll send it to one of the service centres depending on which state you're in i can't remember exactly which states go where but its basically divided into east and west i think

I may be wrong, but it seems like they send the apps to were ever they have less work. Seeing that I am from the Chicago area, ours should have been sent to VSC. Don't know why it ended up in California.

I think what is bothering everyone is looking at Igor's list and seeing one person getting there NOA2 last week. At least that's the way I feel :crying:

Hang in everyone, one less day to wait!!!!!!

There is no rhyme or reason to this process except it happens when it happens. I realize this is no help to those who await ( my fiancee comes to the US today), but the best advice is to just be patient. CSC was fast and VSC was slow when I sent ours in. Now its the other way around. Volume goes up in the summertime also as more people submit their cases.

Hang in there. It will happen.

It's taking Canadians 4-6 months in most cases to receive the NOA2 - and we're basically neighbors. You should expect a long wait - if you don't have patience through this you won't make it - trust me on this point. Best relax and keep busy - it'll come eventually. Sorry, may not be the news you're looking for but it's reality.

Your statement about canadians taking 4-6 months and the fact we are basically neighbors is so true. My fiance and I have been waiting today for 142 days now since noa1 and he only lives in ontario and a 8 hour drive, yet we are still waiting.

Makes things hard for all of us that want to make holiday plans with our loved ones and all but just don't know at this point if they will be here, or maybe our interviews will be around that time or not.

I can say this for sure..... I had very little patience before we started going through this journey, but this journey has taught me a whole lot of patience now. Some things are just out of control.

:ot2: Just hoping that CSC wakes up from their slumber and gets a move on already.
