Thanks guys hopefully it will be taken care of soon. Now, I have another problem: when I called the NVC they said they did not have my birth certificate. I seriously tried not to get angry on the phone, but are these people SERIOUS??!!?!?!?!??!?! I not only TRANSLATED the damn thing, I put a POST-IT telling them it was the Birth Certificate because it was not easy to tell. Sometimes I think they are doing it on purpose.

Saylin, how does this whole supervisor revision work? I pointed to him which one was the Birth Certificate. I told him it was a certified copy he got at the Mayor of his town and he said he will tell a supervisor to look at it and that it will take 10 days to fix. They are driving me LOCA EN LA CABEZA

I believe that yes, the IV package was reviewed and accepted. Now they're just waiting for the I-864, then you're done :)

Don't listen to this "lady". You're allowed to call every day, although I wouldn't suggest calling like every 5 minutes. Once or twice a day is acceptable. And they don't put cases on the side if you're from Mexico, or any country for that matter. The officers review packages as they arrive on their desk. That's their job.

And the only reason it would take more than a month to get a case number is if the backlog at NVC gets worse. Nothing to do with what country you're from or anything. But I've noticed it dropped from a month to three weeks, so you should be getting yours soon :)

Thanks Saylin! You're like a ray of sunshine thru all this cloudy mess called NVC!

Omg, finally! Progress! kicking.gif Is the police check and birth certificate the last things needed for the IV package?

Uhuh. Then he'll scan them and send them to me, and I'll put together the rest of the package. I actually feel we'll get this done when I want!

For the November NVC'ers information. Yesterday, I called and found out my case was closed on October 11, 2011 and I asked the operator about our interview date. She said they would start scheduling for November today so to call back. I called back today and the Operator said they did not have an appointment for me yet and that they just closed out November scheduling today so call back in the 3rd week of November to see about getting our interview date. OMG!! What in the world? Crazy Crazy Crazy.

I don't know a lot about supervisor reviews. I just know that it's a good idea to do when NVC claims a document is missing when the person who sent is was sure they included it. Sometimes an officer just doesn't see it. Remember, they go through hundreds and hundreds of cases. They're bound to make a mistake once in awhile.

It'll probably be a few days before they review the package again. Despite this, just keep calling every day and asking if there's any update on your case.

Like I always say, don't listen to those darn operators. They're always reading from a script. Just keep calling them every single day.

Thanks, will keep calling. and I'll be patient again. I just thought this part of the process was almost over so I got a little discouraged when I found this out this morning. Can't wait for it to be tomorrow.
