Also my husband is moving to a new apartment. Is it easy to change the address with them?

I moved right before we sent in our papers to the NVC. My husband just called them and gave my new address. We didn't have to fill inn a form or anything. :)

Oh, and they will send you an email with the cover letter for the rfe that you send in with the required documents :)

OMG!!!! Just called the AVR. Case completed on the 21st! So happy, I can't believe it!!!!

Have to call them on Monday to make sure everything worked out with the payment though.

I never thought I would hear those words. And what's funny is that everything in our case has happened on a Friday. We got the NOA2 on a Friday, our NVC case number on a Friday and now our case was completed on a Friday, pretty weird :D

Congrats! I'm very happy for you! It finally paid off. Oh well, then TGIF (thank GOD its friday) to you! But I do envy! :crying: I want it to be monday already! :bonk:

This is why I always suggest calling NVC at least 3 times if you have an important question like that. Because I assure you, they'll all have different answers. I'd suggest calling Monday a couple of times and ask the EXACT same question. Write the question down and repeat it on the call, so you know you're not deviating from the question. I'd say call every hour or so until you see one answer being given the most often. I'm hoping the first operator was just wrong and they just haven't reviewed your RFE response yet.

I hope so too. But yeah, I'll do exactly what you've said. I'll bug them until they gave me consistent answers. If only my magic jack number can go through NVC's number, I'll call them non-stop anytime of the day! (My hubby's too nice to these inconsiderate operators, even when I told him to be mad, he being mad is still not mad enough for me! ) The RFE response review's taking us forever to finish! :crying: I think were the only one NVC September-October filer left who still doesn't has his/her case completed. The feeling sucks and I feel so hopeless. :(

So I've booked a flight to go see my husband for a couple of weeks in November. (I'm going absolutely crazy with the waiting and we have not seen each other for 7 months!!) I have heard from several different operators that all the November interview slots are gone and now that we have this RFE I'm now praying for a December date.

If we get a December date and it falls too close to Christmas I am thinking of extending my ticket and spending Christmas with hubby and the family.

Does anyone know how much further I can delay my interview date without causing problems for myself?

I'm hoping for a December interview date, is that possible or wishful thinking? Does anyone know if the embassy in Stockholm will close down for a long time for Christmas? Thank you!

Hello Canadalove thank you for your reply.

No, I did not received any email from NVC regarding the DS-3032. I did not wait for them to send me the DS-3032. I sent my choice of agent immediately as soon as I get our NVC case number. Do you think I resend again my choice of agent OR I will wait for NVC to send me the DS-3032?

Our AOS status is already "PAID" but our IV Application is "NOT INVOICED".

Try resending the ds-3032. The IV bill will not appear as available to pay until that form is accepted.

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.

You can probably delay your interview indefinitely, but I wouldn't suggest it obviously. I would suggest just going to the first date you're given.

Thanks guys :) I'm so happy! Jon&Cess: I'm sure you will have good news soon. I'm thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I don't believe Norway has a long wait, so I definitely think December is possible. Like I suggest to others, look at other VJ member's timelines from Norway to see how long it is from CC to interview date.

And all consulates/embassies should only be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. But this might vary by country.

Ok, thanks, I'll do that! I guess the situation in Scandinavia has changed a bit now since we all have to go to Stockholm for our interviews. I'm just hoping that doesn't slow things down. It looks like other Scandinavians get to know their interview dates within a couple of weeks from CC, so I'm hoping that's the case for us as well :)

Yes, they consolidated all immigrant visa services to Stockholm. Apparently it's because of the low number of IV applicants in Scandinavia. I haven't heard about a backlog yet, but there isn't that many Scandinavians on VJ, and it's a recent change, so it's hard to get an overall image of how it's affecting the processing times. I'm hoping they have assigned more people and resources to Stockholm to avoid a backlog. But you never know;) I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Yeah, most immigrants are coming from Canada, China, Philippines, UK, India, etc.

Remember, not everyone immigrating to the US is on VJ ;) Plus, VJ is mostly K1 and IR-1/CR-1 visas. There's a bunch more visas out there (like student and work visas).

But yeah, I'm sure if it's recent, then it's hard to judge if it's affecting the time frame from CC to interview. And with the low number of people here on VJ from Scandinavia, then it's hard for you to get an estimate. But I'm guessing it's the average two months from CC to interview. Only time will tell! I'm betting you get your interview date this coming week ;)
