Timeline

Again, for the 6th time, I received a checklist cover letter. I was hoping that when I open my email this morning (PI time), I would have receive a case complete email from NVC, but all in vain. :crying:

The good news is, the 6th RFE states the same as what it was askin in the 5th RFE (just refer to my timeline at the signature below). :) NVC received our RFE response last October 13. How long will we still be waiting! I'm gettin a lil impatient!rawr! :bonk:

My case has been in review since October 13th as well... keep me posted because I am so over calling NVC and waiting. I am tired and I just want my life to be normal again.

My case has been in review since October 13th as well... keep me posted because I am so over calling NVC and waiting. I am tired and I just want my life to be normal again.

We called NVC last friday. The operator told us that they're still waiting for our RFE response. And when we told him that the response they're been waiting was already delivered and was received by their office yesterday (october 13), he then told us that they cannot confirm that (if they have the package at hand), and most prolly, the response was not yet designated to a table to be reviewed (if they have the package). I was expecting that it'll only take them a day (today) to review that. Oh well, i'll ask my hubby to call/bug them right now! :bonk:

Hi, I just wanna ask you. Did you file for another birth certificate or asked an operator to have a supervisor review your case or both?

We asked to have it reviewed by a supervisor. We later talked to a supervisor and she said not to send in another birth cert since the case already is under review. It seems like it can cause a delay if you send in a new one after the case is sent to review. In hindsight it seems it might have been faster just to send a new birth cert rather than having a supervisor review it, but we are not sure if we got the rfe because they overlooked the birth cert of if they don't like the one we sent in. At least with the review we'll know for sure why we got the rfe, I hope ;)

I'm sorry to hear that they are being so difficult and slow!! I think the 20 days is just something they say, the operators have scripts they read from. You can also tell the operator that you wish to speak to a supervisor, they should know more than the operators. Hopefully they will review your rfe response within a few days and you'll get a case closed :)

I know exactly how you feel. All of this waiting is driving me crazy. No email/news from NVC today. :(

No, we got the rfe email and cover letter before we asked for supervisor review. After that we haven't gotten anything from them.

I'm sorry to hear that they are being so difficult and slow!! I think the 20 days is just something they say, the operators have scripts they read from. Let's keep our fingers crossed we all have good news by the weekend!

The 4th RFE (refer to my signature below) we received tru email was questioning my hubby's line 25 AOS form. At first, we thought we got everything right and NVC must have overlooked our files resulting line 25 not corresponding to what was declared in his IRS and W2(s). So we called NVC and requested for supervisor review (but we were not able to talk to a supervisor at that time coz no one's available according to the operator), then told us that he'll ask his supervisor to review our case.

After days of researching here in VJ, I later discovered (thank GOD Saylin responded to my inquiry in a thread :innocent: ) that we really did have made a mistake. I quickly called hubby, and later on we've got everything figured out. We called NVC once again, to our surprise, the operator told us that they're still waiting for the new & CORRECTED AOS form (he didn't mention anything about supervisor review, which we asked them earlier to have it reviewed). We responded to the 4th RFE response and sent it to NVC. Since sending the RFE response, we've received 2 more RFEs (checklist cover letters - this time FALSE RFEs). :)

I believe, the operator we talked to earlier about the 4th RFE didn't have our case reviewed by his supervisor (which was a good thing coz WE really made the mistake). I even emailed them assuming that we were correct but proven to be WRONG all along. Haha! Silly us! :jest:

I know exactly how you feel. All of this waiting is driving me crazy. No email/news from NVC today. :(

Haha! Silly us! :jest:

Hehe, the NVC really likes confusing us I think! So many false RFEs :) What's annoying is that the operators always give conflicting messages. For example, yesterday when my husband talked to them they said our papers were sent to review on the 12th while we requested the review on the 5th. But when my husband talked to a supervisor last week, she said call back next week (this week) cause then it's been 10 days since it was submitted for review. So I don't know what to believe :bonk:

I guess it'll happen when it happens... I'm trying not to waste energy being frustrated with the NVC, but it's hard not to!

I called an operator last night and she said that my case was sent to the supervisor department yesterday. Whatever that means. I asked her how many more days that meant and she said 10 even though 10 days was starting feom the 13th. I am guessing we should start calling back supervisors now that the file is in their department now. I'll do that tonight because the operators are way nicer and I'll let you know how it goes.

Hi guys, moving from the super hectic September NVC filers discussion. I filed for my wife and step-son; my step-son birth certificate only has my wife, as his dad is nowhere to be found. My wife's case has been moving along quite nicely, but I haven't gotten anything for his case; I've called NVC multiple times (once a day probably) and they always tell me his case is on further processing and they're waiting on "something" from USCIS... any advice? this is driving me nuts!!

6-18-11: Sent I-130s for Wife and Step-child

6-24-11: Received NOA1 via text & emails, file routed to CSC (Priority date 6-22-11)

6-27-11: File touched by USCIS (last update in their site)

6-27-11: Received NOA1 in mail

9-15-11: Received approval email notice

9-19-11: NVC Received my cases & got NOA2 hard copy.

10-7-11: Got case numbers from NVC

10-12-11: Got IIN and paid AOS Bill for wife's case

10-14-11: Sent AOS & Paid IV Bill for wife's case

10-19-11: Sent IV packet for wife & AOS for step-son's.

10-21-11: Paid IV Bill & Sent IV packet for step-son's.

10-26-11: Got RFE for Italian records.

11-21-11: Sent Italian records to NVC (took almost a month!!)

12-5-11: Case completed with NVC

12-28-11: Got interview date (2-3-11)
