There is a philosophical strain of classical liberalism running back to, oh Adam Smith and John Locke or so, and which underpins the foundation of this nation. Socialism is not wonderful, but the Liberal concepts of limited government, self-rule, and constitutionally guaranteed liberties are as American as Mom and Apple Pie (more so, in fact). And they are exceptional ideas -so much so that they have been admired and emulated around the world ever since we wrote them into our Constitution.

Seems the huge difference is,

Libs think Amerika "will" be exceptional when they finish the transformation.

Those on the Right usually Believe she always has been exceptional.

I don't know what a "Lib" is. But if you mean a classical liberal, then you are wrong.
