I filed my husband's I-130 in August 2010 and on my notice of action there was a priority date for August 24, 2010. I was told that was my PD. After a year of waiting for an approval, I was shocked to discover that on my notice of approval there was a different priority date which was for August 24, 2011. THis is rather confusing since I know people who filed around the same month as me and their priority date is August 2010 , not August 2011. Could this be a printing mistake and should I contact USCIS or NVC?? Please help!

It must be a typo, your priority date is the date your application is received. I would clarify it with USCIS but would ask someone else to confirm this. Good luck. Why is it taking so long to get your !-130 approved? It seems longer then it should....

Thank you for replying. I have no idea why it took so long, I have been contacting USCIS since May and after 4 months of going in circles I finally received my approval only to find that there was a different priority date. I don't want to have to wait another year. So frustrating. Would USCIS issue another approval with the correct date? Hope this doesn't delay my application any longer than it already has. Appreciate your input though.

Yes, I do have my original notice of action that states that my priority date is August 2010. My notice of approval is the one that I think has the wrong priority date. Not sure if this is a typo or not. I am in panic mode.

A notice of action is way different from a notice of approval they could have two different dates. Go by the date on the notice of approval. I wouldn't panic too much

I know that they are two different notices, but since last year priority dates have been given with the notice of action and they have been retained. This is why I feel that the priority date printed on my notice of approval is a typo. Everyone that I have spoken to who filed in August 2010 just like me have a priority date of August 2010 even after the approval was sent out. This is why i am concerned. I think I will have to have make an inquiry on Monday.
