For me it was 4 days, this was at the London embassy. I think it differs depending on which country you're in. Shouldn't be long though.

Depends on what Embassy you interview at. Some countries allow the beneficiary to pick up the visa 24-48 hours after the interview, others require the visa to be sent via courier to the beneficiary and some other Embassy's place the beneficiary into administrative processing to pass name checks - this can take weeks or a couple of months.
