By ALI AKBAR DAREINI - Associated Press | AP – 7 mins ago

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran's supreme leader assailed a two state solution for Israel and the Palestinians on Saturday, saying the Palestinian bid for statehood at the United Nations is doomed to fail.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the Palestinians should not limit themselves to seeking a country based on the pre-1967 borders — which would implicitly recognize Israel — because "all land belongs to Palestinians."

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has asked the U.N. Security Council to recognize an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza Strip — areas captured by Israel in the 1967 Mideast war.

Israel and the U.S. oppose the U.N. bid, saying there is no substitute for direct negotiations. But with Israel continuing to build settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, Abbas says there is no point in talking.

Iran doesn't recognize Israel and considers it an archenemy.

Khamenei, who spoke at a pro-Palestinian conference in Tehran, once again called Israel a "cancerous tumor" that should be removed.

Iran supports the militant Palestinian Hamas group, which rules Gaza and which does not back the statehood bid pushed by Abbas and his Western-backed Fatah.

"Our claim is freedom of Palestine, not part of Palestine. Any plan that partitions Palestine is totally rejected," Khamenei told the gathering. "Palestine spans from the river (Jordan) to the sea (Mediterranean), nothing less."

Khamenei claimed that a two state solution would mean "giving in to the demand of the Zionists" and that it would "trample the rights of the Palestinian people" to live on their land.

The conference was attended by senior Palestinian militant leaders, including Syria-based Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal, who told the gathering that "resistance" was the only option left for the Palestinians.

"Palestinians must resort to resistance no matter how costly it is, until Palestine is free and Israel is destroyed," Mashaal said.

Mashaal's comments could potentially undermine Abbas' U.N. bid and stall talks between the rival Palestinian factions on power-sharing. The talks were expected to resume in the coming week.

Abbas and Fatah favor a negotiated peace deal with Israel, while Hamas is sworn to Israel's destruction. Israel has warned Abbas it will not negotiate with any Palestinian government that includes Hamas.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Iran supports Hezbollah and Hamas with money and weapons not to mention they back the government of Syria. Anyone that has a clue on reality and doesn't look at the world through rose colored glasses knows what's in the back of the mind of most Arabs in regards to Israel's existence.

I truly believe some peeps like to be b*ll sh*tted into buying the spiel about Arabs being keen on a two state solution. Those are the same peeps who are wanting to buy a bridge in Brooklyn.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

The only Muddle East "solution" supported by Iran is a one-state (itself) stretching from Thanesar (in India, between Delhi and Ambala) to Alexandria--roughly the areas that ancient Persian Empire held at height (which includes ENTIRE areas covered now by Israel, PA, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria).

BTW, Iran isn't Arab at all--Persians and Arabs (even Iraqi Shias) generally don't like each other much.

Ahmadinejad offers 'simple' solution for Palestinians

AFP – 2 hrs 34 mins ago

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday proposed a "simple solution" to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict under which "everyone should go home."

"If the backers of the Zionist regime want to solve the issue... the solution is simple ... everyone should go home," he told an international conference, as the United Nations mulls a Palestinian statehood bid.

"Some poor people were brought to Palestine on the promise of security and jobs while they made Palestinian people into refugees... So now Palestinians should go home and those brought here should go to theirs," he said.

Tehran's two-day International Conference on Palestine was attended by parliamentarians from some 20 nations and figures including Khaled Meshaal, exiled chief of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas.

At the opening on Saturday, Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reiterated the Islamic republic's opposition to the division of Palestinian lands.

"Any plan which would lead to the division of Palestine is unacceptable," Khamenei said. "Any plan that would create two states ... would be accepting a Zionist state in the land of Palestine."

Ahmadinejad, who is known for making fiery anti-Israeli speeches, on Sunday dubbed the Jewish state a cancerous tumor" which had to be removed to save the region and the world.

Iran has not recognised Israel since its 1979 Islamic revolution and backs Palestinian and Lebanese militant groups fighting against the Jewish state.

On September 23, the UN Security Council took up a request for full recognition of a Palestinian state over the vehement opposition of Israel and the United States.

The West of Washington State doesn't like the Central bit - or is it vice versa ? In Chicago, they told me not to drive to Wisconsin because they are cheese heads.

My last boss was a Jewish guy born in Egypt who's first language was French. He owned the company and I was his favorite. I have worked for Jews and Arabs. The Jews told me Jewish jokes but the Arabs didn't tell me Arab jokes. Could be a cultural thing

He said that area to the left wasn't worth having and the Jews made a mistake when they came out of Egypt and should have turned right instead of left and then they would have had the oil. That was the year 2000 and now the US and New York control the oil in Babylon.

It all quite biblical really but the Jews should have established in Mesopotamia where the oil is and let the Arabs keep Palestine (as it was).

Problem solved

Oil wasn't worth anything at the time, but copper ore was. The Hebrew mercenaries leaving Egypt managed to conquer a few sites, and hold onto them for a few decades. Hebrews never made any lasting friendships in the ancient world.
