Good day all the good people of VJ....i was admitted on September 24 at USA port of entry JFK and it was really a pleasant experience. But i have an issue i foreseen though it will be a future stuff but i want to know if it is a good idea before then..so that i will not be in a fix. The issue is that my wife have a family leaving closer to our house and the family is her aged parent both 67 years and her handicapped brother who will turn 50 next year..he is so sick and bed ridden...have to use diaper all the day....There is this concern that we have to move over to be care-giver to her family...since her mom have no strength as usual to take more meaningful care of her handicapped baby. I have no problem with that..since they are my family now.

They issue here is....i know how complex the immigration process is...and in 18 months i am going to adjust my status..and one of the requirement as i noticed from my study is the couple having a joint lease of residence. My in-law residence is on their name, is there a way they can add us probably in the lease..or do we just lease it like that....do the required change of address, cross our hands and wait to explain everything to USCIS during submission of our AOS application in detail. May be i am worrying alot but i just don't want see anything happening that may separate us...because i really love my wife...they mom is really great...and she already filled the vacuum of my demise parent and we already share a unique relationship all through my immigration process and now.

Please i really need an advise from you guy. Thanks for the hard work.

Ok then I don't understand why you need to file for AOS in 18 months, since you're already LPR.

Edit: or do you mean apply for Removal of Conditions i-751?

Thank you for clearing that up.

Regarding the lease. Talk to the landlord if he/she would add you and your wife to the lease. It would be really up to the landlord.

If that's all taken care of you can update your new address with USCIS. I don't really see a problem with this, especially with you guys helping to take care of your family and both you and your wife holding the same residence.

Even if they can't, have your in-laws write & notarize a letter for you stating you live with them but cannot be added to the lease for whatever reason and include that with your evidence when you apply for ROC.

10.28.2010 - Biometrics appointment received, dated 10/22 - set for 11/19 @ 3:00 PM

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
